your writing, logic, and facts are all a convoluted mess. Scout, not rivals, is the site started and run by UW grads. Tosh was rivals #1 recruiter last year not this one... they don't bestow that honor until after signing day. Them doing well again early this year with so many of the recruits siting Lupoi as a major reason why is part of a trend not a flash in the pan as you've been claiming. Lupoi had been selling his academically great alma mater to kids from the rich recruiting hotbed surrounding it. One of the big things he had to tout is the massive investment in their facilities which you were completely ignorant of. The side I'm sticking with is that academics matter. So does proximity to home, the surrounding city, weather, facilities and relationships with the players and coaches. I don't know why you can't process that having the main Cal guy a recruit has built up a relationship with leaving at the last minute is a big deal, but thats not my problem. I'll speculate that Cal's rise in recruiting will continue next year and beyond. STOMP
DJ Foster is a Sun Devil http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-D.J.-Foster-103728 STOMP
WELP Would have liked him as a Trojan. And besides, ASU is gonna go through a dark age along with Arizona?
lol back to our regularly scheduled programming now. Honestly I'm glad he didnt end up going to SC or Cal. Less of a threat at ASU imo. Best of luck to him. Even though we were thought to lead for him at one time :MARIS61:
I'm saying that it's my "Opinion" that Tosh is sketch with the recruiting of these players, not Cal or UW but Tosh solely. He's the link. I think he may be getting booster money on the side or something but the minute that Cal pulled arguably the best recruiting class they ever had out of the blue with a barely 500 season and a bowl loss my ears perked up! That and Tedford being talked around the Pac 12 as a coach on the hot seat. Is that fair? Mind you, Ellis, Shaq and Arik were being pursued by the who's who of top ten teams and powerhouse programs all over the country. So when they all verballed to Cal at once, I took hits here from posters saying that I was overlookng the fact that it was the facilities, campus, great academic university, and proximity to these guys families and so forth and so on.... Then Tosh gets recruiter of the year from Rivals a company started by UW alum and then he gets a huge pay bump and a new job to a school that just happens to be the alma mater from the Rivals boys. Now Tosh, a very average d line coach is being paid more than the O coordinator at that school he's going to, and I then again scratch my head. At the same time he announces his new found career in Huskyville, all the top three recruits he "FOUND" for Cal decommit. Why? Great School still right? Great facilities coming right? Close to home right? Well? That's how many said it to me here. Now Arik and Shaq have both been visited again by Tosh and his brand new school UW and both have put UW on their list! It just seems funny to me is all. We'll see how it turns out!
a recent rivals quote from Chance Allen... "Mostly I committed to Oklahoma State because I didn’t know what was going on with Chip Kelly." STOMP
that Cat reminds me a lot of BJ Kelley for some reason (but a little bigger and a little slower?)... and I am very high oh BJ Kelley for this upcoming year.
after the Rose Bowl victory, Kelley jogged over to my end of the stadium where fans were going apeshit and then exploded into a backflip that he landed with ease... catlike in fact. Dude is an impressive big athlete. STOMP
Please let him come to UO. They don't have Blackmon or Weeden next season, they'll fall back into obscurity. Ducks have a shot of a Natty/Rose Bowl. The choice is obvious.
yep very impressive. Before the Pac 12 Title game he warmed up for about 30 min by us, running routes and exploding in the air to jump for the ball. He is overlooked in last years WR haul as he didnt have the 4th * but I might be the most excited about him. Although I also pegged Hawkins as a DJ Davis clone, and that didnt turn out so well for me last year
Took me a few minutes as well. The ensuing flamefest from those who didn't get it is highly entertaining, though, so I'm glad that some posters took it literally.
Very good news for the Ducks, IMO. Foster could have been a poor man's DAT next year at USC. ASU must have promised him the starting gig immediately. Kid is going to get banged up next year with no QB and no O-line.
Arik never committed to Cal. Again, rivals wasn't started by UW alum (Scout was) and Tosh was the rivals recruiter of the year for last recruiting season not this one. Finally, two of the three guys (Shaq & Jordan Payton) who committed to Cal at the Army game are still committed to Cal. STOMP
I think it's a stretch to say that Shaq Thompson is still committed to Cal in terms of any real way. Even Cal fans have no idea where he is going to end up. If you read the SacBee article on him, he seems to be changing his mind on a daily basis.
