You know Thomas can't keep that up. When Camby gets hurt, and he will get hurt during this season because they're playing games at an average of one every 46 hours, he stays hurt for long periods of time. So when Camby is taking his sweet time with an ankle injury, I'd rather not have to rely on Kurt Thomas, Craig Smith, or Chris Johnson. If we had a competent PF/C like Martin, we could spell Camby longer and more often during must win games thus lowering his chances of getting hurt and saving some energy for the 3rd night of a back to back to back. But I guess it comes down to how much you trust the back up guys we have.
Gonna bump this because this could be a possibility. With Camby down and our glaring weakness for another "back to the basket player"; would you consider him?
I guess it all depends on how long they think Camby will be out. I don't see them cutting anyone just to add Martin to the roster if it's to plug a hole for a couple of weeks.
It wouldn't be to just plug a hole for a couple of weeks, it's about usage and efficiency. You can play camby less so he's better rested in future back to backs without losing much efficiency when you have a guy like Martin playing, as opposed to Craig Smith or Kurt Thomas.
