It might be an overstatement to say that Crawford is the "most selfish" when guys like Nick Young or Marcus Thorton are in the league, but he is damn selfish with the ball most of the time -- arguing otherwise is just silly.
I agree that arguing JC is not selfish may be silly . . . but arguing he is the most selfish player to play the game of basketball is flat out ridiculous.
So is starting an argument over that, but who's counting? You mentioned Arenas first, who is horribly selfish, but he has a career high of 16 assists, and has had several triple doubles. Crawford's career high in assists is only 12. Crawford has also never had a triple double and has only had 12 double doubles in 772 games. Conversely, Arenas has had 4 triple doubles and 51 double doubles in only 535 games
Calling you on your statement of "JC being the most selfish player you have ever seen play" is ridiculous? You should feel honored that your statement is respected enough to be discussed and "argued". But if you would like me to just disregard when you make these kind of statements, I can do that as well.
Nice defending your Arenas statement. My statement still stands. Unless someone can remind me of a less selfish player I might be forgetting. Crawford is incredibly selfish
LOL. You say your statement still stands but then change your statement. In this thread, first you call him the most selfish player you have ever seen play, and then you say he is a really sefish player and then you say he is incredibly selfish player. Maybe all those statements are the same to you, but they really are different. It was the most selfish player that you have ever seen play that I couldn't just let go as a "deal coming soon" statement from you and decided to question it. But I get that you still feel that way and you probably get that I disagree with that statement.
He is the most selfish I have seen. Again, tell me who is more selfish. You gave me Arenas, and I showed he was way less selfish according to stats. Crawford is the single most selfish player I have seen. He had 1 game where he wasn't....A blowout win at home against a shitty team
So assists is how you determine who is selfish? I gave you many players besides Arenas, how do they all compare with assists vs. Crawford. Personally I don't think assists define selfish vs not, but understand we may all have different views of selfish. To me, Ricky Davis epitomizes the idea of a selfish player. Coleman, Marbury and others (like Arenas) come to mind when thinking selfish NBA players. I understand JC is on the top of your list over anyone else. Sad because with all the selfish NBA players out there, you feel Blazers have the #1 selfish player in history. To me that is like saying we have Ricky davisorstephon Marbury on the team, and if that was the case I would hate management too.
I really wanted to argue with MM, so I did a search on guards based on Crawford's USG%, AST%, FG%, and FGA/36. There has never been a guard to play more than 36 games in a season with numbers as bad and selfish as what Crawford's putting up. http://bkref.com/tiny/n3QTB
No. My eyes are how I determine if a player is selfish or not. I think all the players you mentioned are extremely selfish as well, and maybe it's because he is playing for my favorite team, but Crawford seems just as if not more selfish than all of them
With Nate as coach, this is more of an opportunity for Craig Smith and for Crawford and Felton to get out of their slumps........(that they have been in since drafted)
so help me recall... did Nate play Batum as a rookie? How about Aldridge? Roy? Bayless? Greg? yes you are the undisputed heavy weight champion of hating who ever is the Blazers coach, but this Nate doesn't play rookies claim doesn't hold water. STOMP
