It looked to me like he slipped on a wet spot on the floor, then kicked his heel, essentially tripping himself. I was worried about the twisting of the knee, but a contusion from hitting the floor is what we could see. I'm still a little gun shy about the Blazers medical team and knees.
I hope that's all it is, but his reaction at the time suggested a lot more pain than a simple bone contusion. Maybe he just has a low pain threshold, despite playing through a long stretch with the bad shoulder.
Yeah I agree about our medical staff. Either we have some terrible luck or our team just sucks! It looked like when he tried turning the corner, he didn't slip but actually stopped pushing his knee back. Then he freaked out and slipped. I replayed it a few times and that's what I saw.
Yes, and I've witnessed plenty of them in person. I know they hurt, but usually not in that manner initially. Even Batum's comments after the game indicated that he thought it was something much more serious.
