If Melo and Amare don't work together, what makes you think Melo and LA would work? LA needs the ball in his hands to have an impact. Amare is a far better P&R player, but he can't seem to mesh with Melo.

Melo is a blackhole on offense. This is one of the main reasons Durant is a better scorer. Melo is a on ball scorer. Durant is an off ball scorer, leads to higher efficiency and less hero ball.
You don't need star power to win in the regular season, you need it to win in the playoffs though. do you really see this denver team going anywhere in the postseason?
