What are are peoples thoughts on Huff, he had a rough year with what seemed like multiple drops in every game.

Very talented, he said he played through injuries all year. He would make some unbelievable catches then drop the easy ones. Hopefully he'll be 100% and become a leader of our young receiving corp.

I think Huff is poised for a huge season if he is healthy. My avatar is from this TD, which was just sick against any team, let alone Stanford.

Hey Wheels, for the sake of keeping things on track, any chance on changing Ike's post on Huff into it's own thread and copying a few posts to it? Huff is very important player for next season on the outside.

Think about this. If Oregon gets Addison and Allen, to go along with Sanford in this class, and has DAT/Sumler/Blackmon/Kelley, that's seven 3* or better receivers in the last two classes.

The competition between all of them for PT next year should be awesome. Huff is a lock, and DAT will probably play a bit more RB, but will still play some WR. Plus, don't forget Eric Dungy, Justin Hoffman, Keanon Lowe, Hawkins, etc. Damn, if Hawkins can hold onto the ball more consistently, he might be the best of the bunch outside of DAT or Huff, just because of his size.

    LOADED

I expect a ton more balance with our offense this season. Last season we had to rely on the Run so much more because of the uncertainty of our WR's and their hands.

I was at the UW game, and Hawkins dropped 3 passes, one of which was an easy TD on a possession where UO didn't end up scoring. At least he was getting open, though! :)

I just like his size and speed. Hopefully a full year of WR will help him settle down a bit.

oh I'm with you on that one. Before last season I was predicting Hawkins to be the 2nd coming of DJ Davis... I didnt look so good with that prediction last year

Huff is such an explosive playmaker, just needs to become a more complete receiver (i.e. route running, better hands). He reminds me of a shorter Miles Austin. Quick and with a running back type body.

I agree with this. He's explosive and with a bit better concentration can be special.

I have a feeling Huff will play a lot more in the backfield and get some carries like in his frosh year.

Ya know I think when you have Colt, French, Brown and Stanford rotating in and out the sheer size, strength and speed of these TE's/ reciever will be so hard to cover that our smaller WR's are going to be wide open for many free and easy first down strikes. It's gonna take two helmets for every one of our TE's and Stanford with his size alone is going to command a double team on the long ball or he's gonna kill it on the deep ball.

Keep in mind Chip will be bringing DAT out of the backfield much the way Bowden used Warrick Dunn and that for sure will suck in the LB's to stop his quick pick ups, leaving our TE's behind the 10 yard gaps for surgical first down strikes. That of course brings the secondary in to cover them leaving the deep ball threat single covered and that's where Dungy, Huff, Stanford will look like rock stars!!

Two much skill out there for this not to be really fun and super fast!!!

No doubt he's our best WR. He had the sophomore slumps. Next year he'll be back.

Hawkins won't even sniff the field with Sumler, Blackmon, and Huff getting most of the snaps I think.

They should move Huff to the backfield IMO....Tandem with Barner, Carson remains change of pace\b\t tackles back, Dat stays in Tazr spot, redshirt Marshall

Then next year you have Huff as primary back w\ Marshall\Carson competing for #2 and hopefully redshirt Tyner

I saw what Marshall did and he may become a True Freshman. Kid's explosive.

He needs to work on his hand-eye coordination and catching the ball then going. All the Ducks need is another Jaison Williams, or Cameron Colvin type deal.

Huff reportedly played through a stress fracture in his leg he suffered before the season started. Pretty tough dude, but I'm guessing that is pretty distracting as well as debilitating. Next year that should be all healed up and most likely Oregon's best receiver.
