Why do they suck though? Crawford has never been this bad, Felton has never been this bad, and Matthews has never been this bad. Ask yourself why? ALL these veterans seem to regress in the McMillan system. Why is that? I don't disagree that it'd be nice to get an upgrade in talent, but I don't think its even as to why these guys are producing. I think Nate is more so the reason than their (in)ability to play the game of basketball. Felton was excellent last season for the Knicks.

I love how automatic we are on the road! Automatic loss.

Why do they suck? Hell I don't know. Frankly, it doesn't even really matter why, the fact is they just do. Is it Nate? Is it the lockout? Is it bad chemistry? Your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that it's time to get young, suck and live in the lottery for a little while and hope to get lucky. Yay!

Can't wait to hear what mediocreman has to say. I'm assuming his head exploded or something. Although reading some of these posts, people are trying to fill his shoes.

If you're going to do that, you might as well trade away Aldridge. He's entering his prime soon and there's no reason he should hang around if we're going to be lottery bound for the next 3-4 years.

Barring some crazy string of luck, I don't see how we're going to be contenders anytime soon though. Chicago (unintentionally) dipped for one year, got really lucky and got Rose. This team needs a stroke of luck like that because quite frankly, they blew it the last time they got that luck. (Oden) Once in a decade opportunity, pissed away.

I wouldn't say the team sucks. They are great at home. They are losers on the road. They have talent, but on the road, they are choke artists, and the guards shoot a pathetic % from3 pt range. We've already lost 7 games by 5 points or less for fuck sake.

I disagree. Watching Charlotte yesterday really made me realize how big of a crapshoot tanking is. I'm not sure I'd want to go through 5 more years of absolute crap in the hopes that one day it will be better. I'm not sure PA would want to go through that again either.

This team can tread water, but move towards youth at the same time.

Why would he get "mad" at an expected result? (losing on the road.)

Mediocre Man is not a fan of Nate and anything that might possibly cause the Blazers to dump Nate will make him happy.

It could break that way I guess, but I'd counter with the example of rebuilding on the fly that Denver and Utah pulled off as the opposite end of the spectrum. We don't necessarily have to expect an un-watchable team for the next half decade.

Rebuilding on the fly is great. Problem is, Denver and Utah were fairly talented even without their star player, mostly due to their front offices making the right decisions and getting great value for draft picks and trades.

Portland...isn't. Outside of Aldridge, you've got Batum and a bunch of guys who are, or are about to be over the hill. You can't trade away Aldridge since he's the only thing keeping the boat afloat, so the speak.

This offseason will be a great test though, to see if the front office has what it takes. A bunch of salary is coming off the books and they're in prime position to make some moves....
