In the months leading up to the start of the college basketball betting season, you literally couldn’t go a day without reading about why the Kentucky Wildcats, under Head Coach John Calipari were the class of the NCAA. Now, almost three months into the regular season, the Kentucky Wildcats are showing, that strong recruiting may just be what leads them to a title. What’s difficult to believe is that the players making up the brunt of the Wildcats roster are either freshmen or sophomore. To put this into perspective, consider that March Madness betting dark horse Vanderbilt, who is struggling is a team full of seniors. Today we’ll look at why Kentucky deserves its high praise.

As we mentioned earlier, you couldn’t go a day in the weeks and months leading up to the season, without reading a college hoops writers love affair with Kentucky. Now, as we sit at week 14 of the regular season, we are seeing that just like the Eli Manning love affair over the weekend, the praise was more then justified. For instance, if you take a closer look at the Wildcats starting five, your jaw will literally hit the floor, as any of Doron Lamb, Terence Jones, or Anthony Davis could be a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft in June. In our opinion, we truly believe, that Kentucky could become the first school in college basketball history, to have three players be the first three picks in the draft, and a total of six guys all together go in the top 15.

Anthony Davis in particular, is a player that Calipari himself, along with scouts from across the Nation, can’t help but praise. In two games last week, both wins, Davis made a statement that he deserves to be player of the year and the number one overall pick in the draft. Davis numbers were incredible, as he averaged 20 points, eight rebounds and seven and a half blocks in two games! What’s more, the Kentucky Wildcats can’t help but be excited that Davis has found his groove, for the reason that their schedule becomes more difficult this coming week. Tomorrow the Wildcats welcome the ever challenging Florida Gators, before a bookie software clash with the earlier mentioned Vanderbilt Commodores.

For most teams, going from cupcake games against Tennessee and South Carolina, to heavyweight tilts with Florida and Vanderbilt, may convince handicappers to lay off the Wildcats. Yet, as the team boasts a 23 and one record overall and nine wins against conference opponents, it seems as though they can do no wrong. Also, considering, that this may be the deepest team Kentucky fans have ever seen, we like the odds of Kentucky moving to 25 and one on the season, and 11 wins in conference play. In fact, if Kentucky doesn’t make it to the March Madness finals, it may be the biggest let down of the season.
