Man since the post he had an awesome first step to the basket and two sexy assists and a steal. Where did this guy come from?

Stanford has to be kicking themselves for not recruiting him. Kids from Palo Alto.

He's a baller. Great at keeping the tempo in D'Antoni's system.

Who says they didn't? He chose Harvard.
He was a big story last year in Summer League when (allegedly) he outplayed John Wall. The Warriors signed him with a splash, but then waived him during the year. He bounced around, had a short spell of dominance in the D-League, and landed in the perfect situation - under a coach who can make Raymond Felton look like an all-star.

He was recruited by Stanford, Cal and UCLA to walk on. Harvard guaranteed him a roster spot, which none of the Pac-10 schools did.

lol hes actually quite American but, yes, of Taiwanese heritage I believe.

Sentiment from GS fans was far too polar in either direction. On the one hand you had rabid hoards of asians sucking this UDFAs dick before he ever did anything, wearing their Lin jerseys and chanting "we want Lin" during games and taking tickets away from the people who are actually fans of the team and not morons. On the other hand you have people resenting these fans as well as the fact that Lacob hand picked Lin largely because hes from Palo Alto (where Lacob lives) and, presumably, taking someone else's more deserving roster spot just because of Lacob's nepotism.

In reality I always thought he had potential to be a really solid backup combo guard type. Between D-League stints you could see his handles and shot coming along. From the outset he had a knack for getting into the paint and finishing fairly decently- also consider that hes big and strong for a PG, which I think people assumed wasn't the case because hes asian. Pure quickness and speed are nothing special, but adequate. Seems to have very solid lower body strength and quick, active, aggressive hands. What I always liked was how he could D up and really put pressure on people. Thought it was definitely possible for him to become a Keyon Dooling or Delonte West type, not as good of a pure athlete as them and the 3 pt shooting is a work in progress but with the way he played D and found a way to take what the defense gave him I really think he could be a decent backup on a good team.
