http://thesportsgod.thesportsmonitor.net/i...id=86&Itemid=39<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Lakers have been looking to sign a veteran guard, and they may find one by picking up a lucky “Penny.” Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, who was nicknamed Penny by his grandmother, played his first game of the season in the Summer Pro League with the team L. Smith and Associates and said he wants to join the Lakers. “My agent has talked to the Lakers,” said Hardaway, a free agent. “They’re probably my first choice. I would love to play for the Lakers. Right now hopefully I will get a chance to meet with them while I’m here [in Los Angeles]. We’ll see what happens.” Ronnie Lester, the Assistant General Manager of the Los Angeles Lakers, confirmed the dialogue between Hardaway’s agent and the team. “We talked to his agent,” Lester said. “[Penny] is trying to get back into the league, so [the agent] called and said [Penny] is playing out here, and that is basically it.”</div>I personally wouldnt mind giving Penny a shot. We can still offer the minimum or veterans. Either by us making additional trades(Mihm/Cook/Mckie) or cutting Mckie to open up a spot. But what would that mean for our other 4 point guards?

This would makeup for Aaron McKie. I hope the Lakers drop McKie and sign Hardaway.

If they could get him cheap, then by all means LA should go for it.

I was at the SPL games on Friday and saw Mitch watching Penny's game. Then he left when Penny was on the bench...Penny looked hurt but can still give nice dimes

I'd rather not. I love Penny, but the Lakers are at 15 guaranteed contracts right now. There is probably a future draft pick trade coming up to clear a spot, but I'd like to see Pinnock get a spot before Penny.
