Talk about Bad journalism. If you are gonna rip on a team; you better have your facts straight. http://oregonsportsnews.com/team-news/portland-trail-blazers/deja-vu-all-over-again-with-greg-oden.html Last time I checked we lost the #1 pick to Houston on a coin flip. Even the dumbest Blazer fan knows this.
Not too sure about that. MJ would have been teamed with Ralph Sampson and Houston. They would have been pretty good.
Sampson had two years left after that season of decent play. We would have had the entire 90's to dominate. Possibly some of the late 80's too.
Anything could have happened under that alternate reality. Sampson could have stayed healthy. MJ could have been teamed with a Pippen-type player and blossomed. Lots of variables.
Well if Hakeem won two titles with a shitty squad, then I think he would have a much better shot in PDX playing with Porter, Drexler and Kersey.
Blazers would have never gotten Buck Williams, though, and he was a very integral part of the early 90s title runs. That's not to say he would have been needed, but when playing these kind of "what if" games, you must take into account things that might/might not have happened afterwards.
Yeah, we might not have needed Buck. With the team being serious title contenders, Sabonis might have come over sooner, say 1988 instead of 1996 to play with Hakeem and Clyde. Imagine a high/low game with Sabas in the high post, Hakeem in the low post, Clyde and Kersey on the wings and Terry Porter at the point. What if games are fun, but not nearly as fun as it would have been to watch those guys play together. BNM
