players, coach, scouts and GM. I'll stop at ownership! If mgmt does not think it's time they have their heads up their rear ends.

I mean everyone except LMA is available, maybe we keep Nic and Wes and a few of the recent draftees but that's it. We have pieces that other teams may want, for example Minny is desperate for an SG - perhaps we move Wes and Wallace and try to secure Derrick Williams/Ridnour/Randolph. Not sayin this trade could or would happen but this is the kind if move we need to think about.

Lets get the dynamite and plunger ready to go!

we're a mess. even if we make the playoffs, we're going nowhere fast

keep LMA, Nic, Wes and Williams. Blow the rest up.

and GOD McMillian has to go. He's had a good run, but it's time to move on.

I'm of the opinion that the only "untouchable" piece that the Blazers currently have is Aldridge. With that in mind, The Blazers need to make a deal happen that nets them Derron Williams. That being said, trade Batum/Wallace, Felton, Matthews, Camby, whatever the combination that they'd want.

This would be a combo that perhaps exceeds the Clippers big 2. It wouldn't take anything more than 3 other players of average level to make this potential team a contender.

I'll go ahead and assume Batum would be the piece they'd be the most after, and that Derron Williams is going to demand a trade when he realizes that Orlando isn't going to trade Howard to the Nets. The Blazers will have to give up something of value to receive something of value.

Running the ESPN trade machine I came up with this
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6n4md26

This team after the trade would be needing another quality center, perhaps go after Kaman after this trade. This trade solves the issue of late game situations where the Blazers need someone who can create quality shots.

I feel this would be a team that with a few tweaks could be a contender next year.

It's gonna happen this summer. The only question is, how long will we take to get back after a rebuild?

I'll bet anybody (no, not everybody) ten bucks Nate is still the coach this time next year and this team doesn't look dramatically different.

When I say "dramatically," I mean 4 or more players traded or let go in free agency

In my mind even Aldridge is on the table. If you can package him and land Deron or Dwight Howard or some other middle-top-tier player, you go for it. LaMarcus is a perfect #2 option for a team, he's not a leader. He won't win the Blazers a title.

I say trade for Nash and offer him the fucking moon to resign. Then package LA, Wallace, and Batum/Wes/whoever the fuck else for a top 10 player. Then take your chances with the draft and free agency to fill the gaps. Pray that Oden resigns because he's got something left and something to prove.

When the Season Ticket renewals for next year fall off the earth, you'll see changes.

Probably right on Nate, but I'll take that bet on 4 or more players being gone happily.

trade la for a top ten player? la is damn close to a top ten player and if he didnt have to play 40m and had some damn help so teams couldnt get away with double/triple teaming him at the end then maybe he could close a game for us.
imo replace the coach then you can start to fix the team. offer everyone save la for a good pg and lets see what la can do withh a good guard.

Trading LA for some other player is mostly going to be a lateral move at best. LaMarcus is an OK number 1, but he really needs a guard who can play a two man game with him, especially with the pick and roll and somebody who can hit a shot when kicks it out of a double team.

As for the "trade for Nash and then fill it out with free agents and pray for Oden" plan, I'd rather just go ahead and try to rebuild around LaMarcus thankyouverymuch.

I don't see what good trading LMA does for us. You can build around him as your #1, you just need someone who can close games for you. Same problem SA had with Duncan(no, LMA isn't Duncan, I know this). Same issue teams with great bigs always have. You need a closer. Getting Deron for LMA does us no good.

I think you are all treating LaMarcus as more valuable than he actually is. Tell me how he's any better than Stat-Bo was.

Look at all of our expiring contracts after this year. We won't have to "blow up the team", they are all free agents. We can simply let them go.

Before blowing up the team this summer, rent Steve Nash and Larry Brown for half a season, just to see what this team could be with a PG who can shoot and feed the post and a coach that can develop an offense that doesn't play 1-on-5.

With someone like Nash, who can shoot and pass, Aldridge would be even more dominant than he already is.

With Larry Brown there will be player and ball movement which will create easy baskets for everyone. It will also allow players like Batum and Gerald Wallace to flourish. They are both incorrectly and under utilized by Nate.

If they still look like shit (doubtful), blow it up and start over during the off season.

He's a roughly top 15 player. Sure, nobody is "untouchable", but you aren't going to get someone better than LMA for LMA. You aren't going to get one of the true superstars in a deal. Dwight would leave here. Who else are you moving him for, realistically.
