    APG
    08-09 Zach 2.1 ; LMA 1.9
    09-10 Zach 1.8; LMA 2.1
    10-11 Zach 2.2; LMA 2.1

No argument that LMA is a better defender.

Quite so. Amazing that people need to have that pointed out.

Get rid of Felton. That experiment has failed miserably. Trade him, then watch him flourish elsewhere.

Trade Felton and Nolan Smith for Dre Miller and Faried and I bet we would be a lot better.

I thought you were done for the year. What made you come back?

If you read carefully, you'll see no reference to saving this year.

LA's fg% is two points higher.
LA's blocks about 3X as many shots.
    LA is 4 years younger.
While Zbo seems to work harder at D now than he did in PDX, he's still not nearly as good as LA. (As noted above.)

LA is currently number 12 in the league for PER. That seems like the statistics show that like he's pretty valuable. Nobody is trying to say LA's a superstar.

Tell me how Zbo is better than LA.

You're comparing the wrong stat. Zach has played on a higher paced team and gotten more touches than Aldridge. To really determine who is the better passer, you need to compare AST%:

    08-09 Zach 11.5 ; LMA 9.3
    09-10 Zach 8.2; LMA 9.9
    10-11 Zach 10.1; LMA 10.3

But, even that doesn't tell the complete story. You are comparing peak career Zach with early career Aldridge. Aldridge has improved his AST% every year he's been in the league:

    06-07 LMA 3.8
    07-08 LMA 8.8
    08-09 LMA 9.3
    09-10 LMA 9.9
    10-11 LMA 10.3
    11-12 LMA 14.7

Aldridge's current AST% of 14.7 is nearly 2 points higher than Zach's career best - and he just keeps getting better.

To be sure, we need massive personnel changes, but getting who and what you need isn't as easy as it sounds. Very few teams have that luxury. It's also easy to say we need to go and get a certain player (like Williams) but that isn't going to happen as he has no reason to want to be traded. Sadly, the Roy & Oden injuries, coupled with some poor draft choices have crippled the team. As I look at the immediate future I think we're in sad shape.

What we need is a superstar. Combine that person with LA and some smart role players might get us some traction until we can rebuild over a few years. This would be my idea- Wallace (or Batum), Felton, Crawford and the rights to Oden (such as they are) for Dwight Howard. Needless to say, it's a bit of a pipe dream, but Denver did a trade like that for Melo and Howard is leaving Orlando anyway. It may be enough to get him.

The combo of LA & Howard alone with smart role player types filling the void may be enough to keep us afloat until we can get a few free agents in and hopefully make a couple of decent draft picks.

Someone needs to bump one of those threads that raved about the Blazers' great team chemistry.
