Facebook Friend = misnomer. Or, perhaps, a classic oxymoron.

 

Frat brother from college. Funny thing is the guy was the biggest dirtbag in the house. He would literally screw any chick he could get his hands on, and often in the most disgusting, public, and degrading manner as possible.

 

The Facebook Friend dynamic can be rather peculiar to me. Most of these folks you'd NEVER have as a "true" friend. No offense to anyone (including myself), but does this effectively become some element of narcissistic behavior in our lives..... amassing Facebook Friends?

 

Only if you're a douche that amasses tons of FB friends who aren't real friends.

Meh. Friends is just easier to say than acquaintance. I only befriend people I have actually met and talked to within the past 5 years.

I thought it was strange when I got my FB and all of the sudden people that I didn't even talk to in high school wanted to be my friend.

I try and keep my activity on FB as vanilla as I possibly can. I rarely post. I do however check in daily because I find it amusing. Like the people who bring cameras to every social gathering trying to "capture the moment", or the one's who talk about their daily rituals like people give a shit, or the self portrait people who take pics of themselves constantly. Those are the best. These are mainly women, but you'd be surprised.

 

Thats what I'm saying with my post, just without all the words...

 

I use teh twitterz. Facebook gets all weird, I've gotten fucked over for ditching family shit to go drinking in vegas and crap like that. 90% of my FB is now just me talking about Blazer shit with HS friends who live in PDX.

I fucking HATE political shit on there.

 

Yeah, I'm at ~300 and have been for a few years, and I've worked and lived in quite a few places. I weed people out at times, add on some I meet, yet I still keep on some just for entertainment and laughs. I rarely post, and when I do it's about sports. My wife uploads photos, updates, and similar stuff with the kids in it.

 

Was the warm balls one me?

 

The HCP lives 3 blocks from Stanich's FAMS! Used to play little league for 'em! Best burgers around!

 

At first I didn't dig Facebook. Had a bunch of people holler at me that I wasn't really friends with back in the day..... why would I want to be in touch with them now? I dig seeing what is important and what goes on in peoples daily lives. It's the voyeuristic side of me, I don't know. I have gotten into it and "check in" if I'm at some random place. I am friends only with people I consider friends (other then a few of you guys on here)........ I don't hate on Facebook..... I dig it!
