Yes, I would waive Felton, trade Crawford and play Smith or Johnson. Start working with Williams and Batum every day to see if they can develop point guard skills. Start giving guys from D-league tryouts, whatever. There is no purpose to continuing as is and hoping to somehow squeeze into the playoffs.

Just to add one more thing. Can this team stop pretending we don't need a good point guard? It's been 17 years now since Portland had an above average point guard! Make it a priority!

Who was our last above average PG? I'm assuming you mean Rod Strickland?

Anyways, Andre was above average. Never got the respect he deserved though.

Gotta love Felton's PER = 11.00 . Isn't that so pretty. Okay, wheres the toilet!!!

Hmm. Andre Miller's PER is 17.18. Dang, i wish we hadn't traded Miller.

I was actually thinking of Terry Porter; I guess Rod was above average, just wasn't here long.

OK, looking back, i see that he actually was with Portland for a few years; he and Porter kind of overlapped; looks like he eventually took over the starting role from Porter starting in the 93-94 season and Rod did have pretty good stats. Now I'm kind of remembering that I mostly liked him as a player; although it seems he was criticized quite a bit, can't remember why..

Right now I'd say Felton's trade value is so low we'd have a hard time getting a second round pick for him.

Apparently, Felton may be about to lose his starting job. That's the good news. The bad news: to Crawford.

I actually approve of this (in fact, I believe I suggested it) because, when Felton was out with the bad foot and Crawford started, Aldridge got his season high, because they just pounded it in to him and didn't try anything fancy. And it also means that Batum gets to play more with a passing PG.

Could work (in the same way that strapping roller skates to your black lab might work)... Batum on the floor with Crawford was the worst; Crawford must hate Batum with how much he's freezing Nic out of the offense.

I've noticed that too, if you look at when Crawford has the ball and then hoists up a shot, Batum is usually open and looks pissed

Batum needs to grow some balls and man up! He needs to be vocal and tell his teammates to stop being assholes and pass him the damn ball.

Not so easy for a 'sub' to mount a coup and take over the team from the alpha's, so annointed by the coach. You'd really see an explosion of that happened.

RE ABM's thread, I'd rather this were Nico's team than Crawful's.

The last time Crawful started he looked to pass more. He's smart enough to understand his role as a starting PG. I like the move.

The Blazers need an Allan Houston type player. The offense has a tendency to grow stagnant in when the ball is in Crawfords hands. He can make something out of nothing, but it seems like everytime he gets the ball, it turns into a nothing situation.

That's because we run a stagnant offense.
