Basically a friend of Steve Nash said that Nash requested a trade.

    Revision #5,000,000

    Nash, Childress, Melo, Crawchuck, Wallace

I used Matthews because it's the same contract as Crawchuck, so it would work out in Trade Machine. Let's send Crawford and Wallace to New York and get Nash and Childress.

    Skinny of the deal.

Phoenix trades Nash and Childress. They receive Melo

New York trades Melo. They receive Wallace and Crawful

Portland trades Crawchuck and Wallace. They receive Nash and Childress.

Basically Crawchuck makes it to New York, where he really wanted to play and we get Nash and Childress. Phoenix gets a locked player that will bring in a lot of fans.

    Why New York does this?

Wallace would fit perfectly with Lin and Stoudamire. Crawchuck would actually do much better in a D'Antoni system.

I think New York would at least like to see Melo with Lin once before they trade him for a 38 year old point guard.

Not sure why Portland would do that. In fact, why the hell would Portland do that trade?

Nash might leave after 30 games, and Childress has years left on his contract and he absolutely SUCKS now.

They aren't trading him for a 38 year point guard. And this deal has to happen when Crawchuck becomes available anyway.

Addition by subtraction. And we would need a guarantee by Nash first. :D

I would hope that a pick would be thrown our way first.

You think getting Nash and Childress for Wallace and Crawchuck warrants a pick?

yes. Childress contract is bad (especially for how shitty he is) and they end up getting (by far) the best player in the bunch.

Yep they get the best player; which is why I think they jump on it. Maybe we could pry a pick from Phoenix. I just don't know if they would give us a first rounder; especially being as bad as they are. How about New York's 2nd rounder and Phoenix's 2nd rounder? I doubt either team will give us their 1st.

I know right. Remember I said "I don't know how credible this is"? Just relaying the tweet.

They can say whatever they want publicly, but I have a feeling Nash is not long for the Suns.

I would venture a safe guess that NY would want a pick too.

You gotta admit that trading Melo for Wallace and Crawchuck would actually be addition by subtraction. They may even fight for contention in the East. Wallace would be perfect against Miami Heat with Wallace guarding him. That team would be all "team defense" and Wallace doesn't really need coaching to play good D; he's crash man!

New York line up of: Lin, Crawchuck, Wallace, Amare and Chandler instantly becomes one of the best defensive starting 5's in the league IMO.

New York gutted their entire team to get Carmelo Anthony. Even if it made sense basketball wise, they aren't going to make a trade that ships him out halfway into his second season.
