Well, it's impossible they can play worse. I'd say our guard play is the worst in the NBA- taken as a whole.

Exactly. But they don't have to play a lot better. Just a little better and we win a lot more games.

You have to consider the possibility that they play exactly the same as they are now.

No ... I'm not sure that's humanly possible.

    With this roster? Yes.

With this roster, and this coach? No.

Not if we continue playing like we've been playing. Remember that we are nearly .500 now, but that is after starting the season with a great record. We are only beating the worst teams in the NBA on the road (and barely at that).

We used to be able to hang our hat on good home court play, but now even that is slipping. The playoffs are pointless with Raymond Failton at PG.

Felton is having his worst season as a pro... in a contract year at age 27. What happens if he reverts to the mean (like most things do) and starts hitting the broadside of the barn when the 2nd half of the season arrives in a week?

it seems like there is a competition among some perpetually despondent posters to say the most negative thing possible following any loss. The woe-as-me premise of the OP is laughable IMO. Will the sun come up tomorrow?

Well, if we blow it up, I think we will be trading Wallace and Crawford mid season. And, by the way, I think by trading Wallace we will improve in the lottery since I think we will play sub .500 without him. And at this point I think we would be doing him a favor trading him; he is working too hard to have to put up our guards.

I've considered that also; in fact he seems to be creating some good shots for himself lately; but is that due to his heady play or the fact that other teams do not bother guarding him anymore on a pick n roll?
And does he have the mental toughness to get through his slump?

What's the point of the draft? Nate hardly plays anyone who we draft anyways.

    Elliot Williams: 2010, 1st round, 22nd pick.(POR)(13 gms = 5.1 min and 2.5 PPG)
    Nolan Smith: 2011, 1st round, 21st pick.(POR)(16 gms = 6.1 min and 1.6 PPG)
Dante Cunningham: 2009, 2nd round, 33rd pick (POR) (11.2 min and 19.8 min in his final season)
Nicolas Batum and Jerryd Bayless (trade): 2008 were our last draft picks that got minutes.

Remember Shavlik Randolph? He plays in Puerto Rico now.

Wow, we haven't let our draft picks emerge beyond 2008 at all. Sad.

Nate doesn't develop young talent. Even in Seattle were he played a lot of rookies and sophomores it was because he had to. Its the biggest reason I want to see a new coach, I for one like to see talent develop which doesn't with him.

I guess I believe that we will make the playoffs only because with as many close games as we have lost and with as bad as our guard play has been it can only get better. But it also wouldnt surprise me if this whole kumbaya chemistry thing spirals out of control into a kamikaze death plunge.

Brandon Roy, LaMarcus & Batum all played a lot of minutes (and started) early on. What worthy young talent has Nate allowed to waste away on the bench? I could understand this complaint coming from Luke Babbitt's mom, but otherwise...

there are reasons to want a new Blazer coach, but stubbornly not putting young talent on the floor isn't one of them
