Holy Shit Aldridge! You rocked last night.

33 points, 14-26 scoring (52%), and 12 rebounds. His 4th quarter and OT clutch shooting was amazing. He needs to look at this game and realize he needs to demand the ball!

Yep, Aldridge was great. Too bad the team doesn't know how to run a fast break.

On the bright side?? Our all-star played like an all-star. Well la-de-da.

To me, there was no bright side. Dallas did everything to give us the game except walk off the floor and forfeit. First, Failton tried to take over the game and I just wanted to puke in my shoes. Then Crawful did his usual "can't deliver anything but bricks when the game is on the line" routine. Meanwhile, LA was largely ignored and Nic was running around wide open.

No, I saw no bright side to that game. It was a humiliating defeat.

LOL! But you can't ignore the greatness of Aldridge. He is really becoming a star before our eyes. Even when Nate doesn't know how to coach. Yeah everything else was frustrating to all hell!

Well, that's true. And it's not just the raw numbers. He is just playing better in other ways. I love his game.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Aldridge's steals and assists are up this season. If we had guards able to knock down the outside shot, he probably could average more assists per game.

LaMarcus has been the one bright spot this season. It's almost been enough to make me forget about how horrible our guards are (but not quite).

Hey Mags, I bet you cant recommend a guard out there that can knock down the outside shot that we could go get in a trade ... haha. But in all serious there are a ton of other factors to consider but the ability of Nash to hit that outside shot would change our team drastically. And if Nash could do for Batum what he did the Matrix think how much that would change the team too.

I am in total agreement with your statement. People look at Nash and are concerned with his age. I'm looking at Aldridge and concerned about him being upset his team didn't build a winning team around him. Nash for 3 years is a good move. He can teach the young guards a little something about being an efficient PG. I think we would have at least a +10 win total with just the addition of Nash.

The only way I say no to Nash at this point is if there is some insider info that is out there that I dont know about that is saying that we have a VERY good chance at a top tier free agent. Which we dont. So why not use Nash to get us through that transition process and make our player better in the process? Outside of DWill and Howard the other free agents arent going to change our team that much more than Nash could in 3 years.

And Nash can be a rental to show the free agents what we could become with a good PG like Williams. Nash's contract is up this summer. If we don't have Nash; we still will have more than enough free cap space to go after a free agent this summer.

The big problem is that they probably want Batum in return and in my opinion he is the biggest player outside of LMA that would benefit from having Nash. Defeats the purpose a little.

No, I dont. I think he is over-rated and it scares me that our guard play is so bad that I would consider him.

Nash, of course, would retire rather than have his reputation destroyed playing McMillan syle. After retiring as a Blazer, NBA fans would remember him for the rest of his life as a much more limited player than they now think he is.

    We won't be getting Nash.

I know we feel that way but do you really think that others players out there including Nash truly feel that way? All i ever seem to hear is how much respect Nate has around the league. I do concede that Nash, LMA and Batum would work better under a different coach though.

It will be the best thing for our team. If Nate holds Nash back; then it's pretty obvious Nate is the wrong coach for the job. We can just fire Nate; then have Nash be player coach! ZING!!!!

Nate gets respect from league observers because he's good at getting youth to play in an orderly way, a competent Sarge. He gets respect from players as the longest-tenured black coach. Nash respects him too, but he wants to avoid playing for him.

I'm not confident that Nash is going to be available, especially to the Blazers. The Suns have been playing better lately and are only 2.5 games behind the Blazers. They're certainly not out of the mix as far as making the playoffs.

In case you missed it, Sam Amick has a good article on SI.com about Nash:
