...just hit a game winning 3 and finished with 27 and 11 for the Knicks' sixth straight victory. What a colossal fuck-up on the Warriors' part. We were paying him nothing, and we let him go for nothing. If not for what he does on the court, what about the PR that goes along with having an underdog bay area native on the squad? Not to mention the support they'd receive from the huge Asian population in the bay. We definitely could have made room for him on the roster, even if it was a Mark Madsen bench mob role. I want Lin to do well...seems like a class act, good guy, etc. But every time I see that he lit it up for New York, I'm reminded of how fucking stupid our team is. I'm 28 years old...I've been watching ex-Warriors tear it up elsewhere in the league since I was in my early years of elementary school! I'm so fucking sick of it. Obviously, he's not going to be able to continue at this pace...and I don't even see him becoming an elite player in the league. But he sure as hell was worth SOMETHING...good teams don't fuck up like that and let talent walk for nothing Weren't we supposed to be embracing a culture change at Oracle?
Sucks but I'm very happy for Lin. With Curry and Monta, do not think he's better than them but maybe he was that 3rd guard they were missing last year. Riley has done a couple of good things, Rush/Mcguire/Nate/Dorell, but Udoh over Monroe and this, along with the past mistakes, he's got to take the fall, and soon. I mean Lin was only about $400k on the cap, not a deal breaker for Jordan.
Agree with everything said. I am not a fan of Riley right now. Monroe should have been a no brainer for us when our biggest problem was not having a quality center. Thus, we could have avoided this whole stupid Deandre Jordan business, which means we could have kept Lin. We avoid the point guard panic and not have to pick up Nate Robinson. It's a chain reaction in that bad decision-making leads to more bad decision making. God knows what is going to happen with us with the wasted amnesty and the Marcus Williams trade.
Keep in mind that the Marcus Williams trade cost us a conditional first rounder. If that first rounder ends up being like a Rudy Gay or a Marcin Gortat I am going to flat out never root for the Warriors ever again until Riley is fired for being a fckin idiot. http://blogs.mercurynews.com/warriors/2011/02/08/the-ghost-of-marcus-williams/
