Heard from a couple of sources in Detroit that Delfino wants out and the Pistons are trying to do a sign-and-trade with Atlanta for Al Harrington.
I have heard this aswell, there would have to be more than just Delfino given up, and the Pistions don't have much to offer. The Hawks don't really need Delfino, perhaps a first rounder and Delfino? I am assuming a trade exception would have to be involved. Maybe Cato could be re-signed to a small deal and traded to help bring down the size of trade exception. If healthy Cato could be a decent backup for the Hawks. So do you think the Hawks would go for Delfino, Cato(for like 2-3 mil/3 year range), and a future first? I think that would be ok for the Hawks. Here's a link...http://www.mlive.com/enter/index.ssf?/pist...2821.xml&coll=1
The thing about it is that Harrington is a restricted free agent and they may get NOTHING for him if he leaves. They may take what they can get at this point. I would give Delfino, Cato, and maybe 2 second rounders. I wouldnt give up a first round pick if i am Pistons GM.

I wouldnt trade that for Harrington if he WASNT a RFA. With him being a free agent, that basically means that the hawks either have to sign him or get nothing for him when he leaves. At this point, if they dont want to sign him, they have to take what they can get. Acker and Johnson are like two A prospects. Probably would go lottery in the draft either last year or this year. Only reason they went in the second round was because of lack of experience So it would basically be like giving up 2 lottery picks and Carlos Delfino for Harrington. He isnt worth that.
I love the idea of getting Al Harrington. If we could pull it off without losing any real key players, I think we would be BETTER than last year. Flip Murray, Nazr Mohammed and Al Harrington together eclipse Ben, and I think it would also help the future of the franchise as well.

I am still wondering who will baCk up Nazr? I know we can't count on Dale Davis unless we decide to go small w/ McDyess at the 5 and Harrington at the 4? HoLLa baCk

And lets not forget that the idea of prospects are new in the NBA and arent as valued by the fans as they are by the owners. I dont think Atlanta will get much more for him than that. Maybe throw in Cato or Davis.
detroits not even in the running this is a stupid topic atlanta is waiting out to see what happens with iverson and if he isnt in philly he'll be in denver, goldenstate,Pacers,

This is a stupid topic. Atlanta is waiting out to see what happens with Iverson, and if he isn't in Philly he'll be in Denver, Golden State, or Indiana.Try to fix your grammar, makes you look smarter. The part about this being a stupid topic is wrong, this is a legitimate rumor that is going around.
No they wouldn't Acker. I mean, you would have to add more than Acker yeah, but McDyess is still going to be a Piston. That would totally bolster the offense. I'd think that we'd put Sheed at the Five, start Al, and have Nazr and Dyess on the bench. I bet Acker will stay though.
