It is time to give Smith and Williams some burn.

They will likely flop.....but there is at least a CHANCE they will be productive.

At this point, I wouldn't object if they just told Felton to clean out his locker and take the rest of the season off.

I wonder how uncle Paul feels about the lack of a real GM about now? If it's anything but "wow, I really fucked up by not having one and letting them run things" then we need a new owner ASAP.

Sign Iverson to a one-year deal and release Armon. What's the worst that could happen? He becomes a headcase from the bench, you cut him.

If we're going the waiver wire route, I'd be much happier with Brooks or Patty than AI. AI is probably my most favorite non-Blazer ever, but Patty and Brooks have a lot more game right now.

Well, the first thing Felton should do is get rid of friends who like to call him up and tell him what bad stuff they read in the paper. Not sure what he could do with the family members; stop taking their phone calls; or maybe learn to communicate directly and tell them he doesn't want to hear it! And while he is at it, why not go to Coach's office and talk with him.

I think the coach has got to have faith in him and leave him in, even if it costs us some games. Either he will get better so that maybe we can get something for him in trade (because I for sure would not want to take a chance on signing him longterm) or it will show he is just hopeless and we can play Smith.
And yes, it does seem that Nate has trouble coaching point guards; I don't know if he overcoaches them or what. If I was him i would ask Felton what he wants from him as a coach; what did D'Antoni do that helped him succeed?

Haha, I like the comment at the end of that piece.

"Andre Miller didn't have confidence from Nate either, until he screamed in his face."

Felton has has had more chances to get it going than Houidini had escapes. my god he should have had his minitues limited weeks ago but our options are not so hot to replace him, he's gotten so bad he's a joke, his whining caps it off, waive the inept nimrod

Irrelevant to the thread, which is about the competence of the coach, who needs to go. You can change guards, coaches, and GMs, but you can't change owners. The owner is a given and everything else is a variable. And Paul Allen is not going to run away just because a message board doesn't like him, so you're just spinning your wheels.

Y'know, I've been sticking up for Felton, because, in all this, he has the most PG talent of anyone on our roster. But this is bullshit. He is playing LIKE CRAP. You cannot blame Nate for him dribbling the ball off his foot or hitting worse from outside than many fat message-board heroes like us could.

The most I'm prepared to say for Felton is that he's never had a reputation as a complainer, even when playing for legendary micromanaging griper Larry Brown, and that this is just total exasperation at annoying local reporters grilling him. But fucking hell, it's got to the point where he just needs to be cut.

He has the most talent and shows it by being the 52nd ranked PG in the NBA PER wise. That is next level terribleness

And this is what I don't understand.

Patty can dribble penetrate, find the open player and shoot pretty darn well. In every aspect of his game he's better than Felton. I guess that second round stigma is killing his chances of an NBA return.

Our managerial decision making is freaking horrible.

Well, he can't legally be contacted yet by the Blazers. If this continues on up to the all star break, I'm certain Chad will hit up Patty.

Didn't realize Aaron Brooks was out of the NBA. I'd take a chance on him. Patty sounds like another option I could live with. Both are lousy playmakers, but then so are Felton and Crawford. At least they give you good perimeter shooting.

I'm pretty much over the Felton experiment. But I still think Crawford has some value at doing what he does best--coming in at SG off the bench and creating for himself. He just hasn't had a chance to play that role much this year.
