That's a good point; I gotta admit, I go back and forth on this. He has shown he can do a lot better other places so i guess i am in favor of trying to rehabilitate him enough to get some value in a trade. Maybe it's already too late for that.
I think the term "beyond salvage" unfortunately may apply here, just get him the fuk off the flolor and off the team, ASAP
Perfect post. He isn't doing his job and playing the blame game. When I see him wide open for a '3', and he misses the whole rim to the left or right, why is it Nate's fault? When he makes idiotic passes late in games or allows the ball to be taken from him, why is that Nate's fault? He not only can't play, but he's a crybaby about it as well.
Chicken or egg? Does Felton suck because Nate has no confidence in him? Or, does Nate lack confidence in him because Felton sucks? Time to break this vicious cycle. They both need to go. The sooner, the better. BNM
Easy answer. Felton is not a good NBA PG. Period. It doesn't matter the coach or the system, he just isn't very good. He's not starter material and is being kicked around in nearly every game. He's not about to admit it, so he blames others.
Nate is a joke. Felton is even more of a joke. Crawford is a ball hog. Time to burn up this shit we think are guards on the blazers. I would even dare to say trade all three for draft picks or release the lot of em. Been the most frustrated as a fan since the Zach 20 win seasons. Ug this is so frustrating!
Nate is so hard on his PGs that Blake had his best seasons here (and tricked the Lakers into thinking he was half-decent) and Andre Miller scored 52 points, nearly the most by any Blazer ever, at age about 50. Damn that man! I bet Luke Ridnour wouldn't mind being reunited with the NBA coach for whom he was a starting PG who got deep into the playoffs.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I completely blame Felton for showing up to camp out of shape and fat and I completely blame Nate for having no idea what to do with a point guard that makes his living going north-south as fast as possible. Felton bears the lions share for his woes, but he's got absolutely no shot here with this coach.
To me this is all on Felton. Earlier in the year we were actually hearing about the budding relationship between Nate and Ray.
See this is where you're looking at him with just Blazers' blinders on. He has been semi-good at other points in his career. He looked fucking fantastic playing for D'Antoni for a stretch and completely deserved whatever all-star consideration he was getting and he wasn't horrible as a backup in a difficult situation in Denver. He's never been this bad ... not even close.
Remember when Jack would go to Nate's hotel room late at night to watch game film? Ray would bring donuts.
It means that we were hearing stories about how nate would have frequent film sessions with Felton and due to their newfound relationship, McMillan had complete confidence to turn over his offense to his new PG.
Legitimately good players tend to be decent wherever they play, not fall off a fucking cliff. Denver fans were not impressed with Raymond during his time there, so I guess the warning signs were there,
He hasn't been on par with Miller, historically. Miller has a higher career Assist Rate, much higher scoring efficiency and a much higher Offensive Rating (points generated per 100 possessions). He's also generally had better Defensive Ratings (points allowed per 100 possessions). Felton's career PER is below average (14.2) while Miller's is solidly above average at 18. (20 PER is generally All-Star caliber.)
Absolutely this....this was one of my biggest arguments against the trade last year. Miller has been significantly better over the course of his career and hasn't seen dramatic fluctuations even during the last couple years.
