even the blazers get the 8th seed, its gonna be a dog fight. idk, passing the grizz or nuggets will be difficult not to mention holding off utah and wolves. the blazers do have a very easy april if they can hold around.
there are no "MUST WIN" games in february. going to be tough to make the playoffs but at this point i'm not nearly as interested in "making" the playoffs but having a team that can make a run once we get there and this team doesn't seem to have it in them.
with lakers and spurs on sched next week..... i'd say must win otherwise 16-18 and season likely over
I think I can make a solid guarantee that with Failton and Crawful we have about A 10% chance of making the playoffs and about a 1% chance of winning more than 1 game in them if we somehow stagger in (involving a few airplane crashes with teams in front of us). I'm much more coming around to the idea of more playing time for Smith & Williams to acclimate them to the NBA game, starting Batum to get him more interested in staying here and getting better draft position. Not tank, but just accept the fact Failtonn & Crawful were horrible mistakes and start preparing for next year without their sorry games.
I'm not rooting for the team to lose, but with every loss they improve their chances in a talent rich draft so it's sort of a "win-win" in my mind.
Man, the black cloud around here is getting so thick that it's difficult to see clearly. Need I remind you that this team beat OKC twice (okay, the record book says once, but that's only due to a major screwup by the refs), and had the team with the third best record in the West down by 18 in their last game despite it being the 3rd game in 3 nights and Aldridge being out? Yeah, they ended up losing that game, but that's only because of fatigue and LA not playing. It isn't that the Blazers can't compete with anyone in the league, it's that they've been consistently inconsistent. A trade for another PG (please God), or even Felton getting back to playing like the Felton of the first 7 games of this season, and the Blazers would be right in the thick of things...not because they're so great and the roster is perfect, but because the West is wide open.
Mike Rice @mikerice6 Good morn. Must get out of my trade mode & into my beat hawk's mind set. With lakers& san ant coming up real big game tonight.
It means The Wild One has been playing around with the trade machine trying think of ways this team can get better.
It's a must win, because if the Blazers don't win then they're folding up the team and moving to Seattle.
