Another problem is that Larry Hughes reportedly wants out. Danny Ferry isn't doing a very good job so far at putting talent around Lebron. Shannon Brown was a good pick though.

Lebron doesnt need alof talent around him though....he had an averages supporting cast and they almost beat a team that won 65 games. If they keep their active roster, i see them being a solid #4 or #5 seed. Detroit will beat them out IMO. They could definatley compete with the bulls though

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Mo Pete is a good defender and Rasho ius decent defensively. He is atleast an upgrade from Hoffa. I agree, we dont have good defense. But hey, your Wizards dont either. We dont neccisarily need defense to make the playoffs. I think we'll be on the bubble, but with the way the East is looking, it is definately not out of the question for us to make the playoffs.</div>Its just that we have veterans, and we probably have better chemistry. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Another problem is that Larry Hughes reportedly wants out. I laughed that day when I saw the Cavs hand him that contract. He says he doesnt have the role he has with Cleveland that he had with Washington. Those rankings are insanely bad especially the Magic at 29, are you kidding me?!The Clippers, Kings and lakers are too high as well.Don't undesatnd this overwhelming optimism for Toronto? TJ Ford can't play D and can't shoot. OK they got him to play up-tempo but where does Rasho fit into up-tempo, that's like an oxymoron. They lost Mike James and CV, picked up a couple of swingmen who thrived in the Euro League and now all of a sudden they're play-off contenders? Nah I don't buy it. If i was in Toronto right now, yeah I'd be optimistic but Id temper that with realism. There's a whole bunch of teams ahead of the Raps in the east, including the Magic who have got a better shot at the play-offs than Toronto.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zards @ Jul 19 2006, 09:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Teams have gotten better but they wont make the playoffs. Toronto wont make the playoffs. They have a great young core with Bosh, Ford, and Bargnani. They just need some more veteran leadership and defensive-minded players to make the playoffs. They are getting better but they make the playoffs. The Magic have gotten better. They'll make the playoffs. 8th seed only, though. Teams who have gotten better during this off season still wont make the playoffs in my mind. Toronto, Boston (only if they get AI), Atlanta, Milwaukee, Philly, New York, and Charlotte are not going to the playoffs. Some may improve, but its going to be very tight at the bottom seeds. We'll still make the playoffs...and we're getting a lot of depth for our bench this off season so I expect us to get somewhat deep into the playoffs. I think Pecherov will come back, he had some good games in the summer league and just because we got Songaila doesnt mean he's on his way to Europe. So what if we dont have an inside presence? The Suns got to WCF this past year and they had no Amare, no Kurt Thomas. Their offense was so guard-dominated that Tim Thomas and Boris Diaw were some of their tallest players that made some sort of impact during the playoffs without contributing in the paint. Dallas didnt even have an inside presence and they made the Finals..whats the big deal?</div>Since when are the Raptors part of the team to try to get AI? And Sixers will make the playoffs if AI really stays, and BK is not lieing. I am not just saying that, because I am a Sixers fan.By the way WTF Orlando is crazy low. :no1:

I disagree. Damon Jones and Donyell Marshall are bad signings. They were brought in for shooting help, but yet they havn't even been consistent shooting the ball..

Marshall had some HUGE playoff games though...

Talented players? How is DJ talented? All he can do is shoot, and talk trash. Yeah, but they were still bad signings now that we look back at them, and that is the only thing that really matters. It doesn't matter how attractive the signing looked when it happened, if the player didn't really do anything to help the team.

WTF are the Sixers doing at 22nd? I mean they're about an average team this season it seems like. Same w/ the Magic being 29th. That is rediculious. They could be in the playoff race this season. I don't agree w/ that list much at all.
