Yesterday I was looking around the internet and i went into the Raptors salary on the hoopshype website. We came into the offseason with a ton of cap fexibility but now im skeptical how the Raptors lineup will look after this season. After this season Bosh's huge contract comes into play so thats around 16 mil i think (dont quote me on that) and after the Salmon's S&T and Garbajosa's signing come into play along with the already signed Parker we are skating on thin ice. After this year we are going to need to resign TJ Ford and MoPete!!!! Those two combined will probably eat up $15mil/year. So yeah what do you guys think will happen after this year? Also feel free to add any corrections to what i just said.
I think Anthony Parker and Garbajosa could be temporary. BC needed to fill our roster up so we could be ready to play next year, but if those two dont play up to par, we could just get rid of them. I think Colangelo spended as little money as possible. We had to re-sign Bosh, and the other guys we needed to fill up our roster came pretty cheap, except maybe John Salmons.
What kind of contracts did you give Parker and Garbajosa, if their more then a year, your not going to cut them after one year. You'd have to buy them out, and that costs Raptors still. Also, for every team with cap space, when they want to start building and winning, it's going away. That's just how it is, and that's how it will be for Raps. I think you might have enough for one good free agent, but that's about it.
john salmons was a good pick up but they could have gotten marcus banks for a cheaper price but no one wants to sign with toronto
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>john salmons was a good pick up but they could have gotten marcus banks for a cheaper price but no one wants to sign with toronto</div> Banks got most of the MLE I believe at 5 years. How was he cheaper then Salmons?
Parker got 12mi for 3 years. Garbojosa I read somewhere is probably going to get something around 12-10 mil for 3 years also and Salmons gets like what 4.5 mil a year? So those three players right now combined for almost 13 mil a year. Im hoping that this does not effect our ability to re-sign MoPete or TJ Ford, if we lose one of those two because of the Salmons, Parker and Garbojosa signings that im going to be really pissed because they are part of our nucleus.
Well, Salmons is now out. And I have heard Jones is gonna make 3 mill a year. We save some money there, since Salmons is gone.
Salmons would have killed the raps, but yes after this year hopefully will be in tha situation as the suns (not winning wise) well have deveolping players and all we need is a draft pick and maybe a trade and sign.colangelo is doin wut he did to the suns, but bryan had much more to work with over theremarion, amare, and nash are a deadly combo used together
Why would you want Christie? He is basically done now. And we already have 3 guys who will spend time at the two. (mo, anthony, and fred). That's enough.

Do you actually think he is going to do well? Come on, man.. If a team actually does sign him he will probably hardly play.
Christie won't get that much mintues. I think the only reason he is comming back, is to be a GP, get on a team like the Heat or Mavs, and win a championship, then retire.
