We have a long All Star break. 8 days! Gotta be the longest break of any team. Tomorrow is our last game before the break... most teams play Wed and a few play on Thurs... and then a bunch of teams play on Tuesday after All Star weekend. We dont play until Wed.
So, no excuses for Nate not adding some set plays for Batum as his new starting SG, and no excuses to not cut back on the Crawford 4th quarter ISOs. This is the perfect time to add some new offensive sets to better match our current line-up/personnel. Nate will have had half the season (33 games) to assess his roster and now will have 8 days mid-season to make any adjustments/corrections. I hope he takes advantage of this unusual situation and doesn't just come back with the same, lame, unimaginative 4th quarter offense. Wouldn't be great to go 10-2 in close games in the second half of the season, compared to 2-10 in the first half? BNM
Do they practice for those 8 days? I know LA won't be and I remember in years past players going home or getting out of town. I hope they practice, they sure could use it.
Definitely not all 8 days, but the point is, they will have a couple extra days before and a couple more extra days after the traditional 3-day all-star weekend. We always hear about how hard it is to make changes during the season, due to the limited practice time. So, even if Nate gives the team four days off, that still leaves 4 days mid-season for some serious practice time. If Nate and his assistants are prepared, they can make a lot of changes in those four days. BNM
yeah they won't practice, but if won't take away the nice long break for the coaching staff to figure out more plays, player rotations, etc. This is a good time for the coaching staff's to fine tune their roster and plays.
Ha ha. 8 days to come up with a new play. In an interview with Jeremey Lin, he said coach D'antoni comes up with a new play EVERY GAME.
Just because Oden has gained a little weight is no reason to make fun of the guy. Come on now he just went through another MF surgery.
