They have both their own pick or the one they got from Dallas for Odom. Either of those two, and I do this in a second.

Any chance the Lakers would throw in Rebecca Haarlow if we give them HCP?

How do you figure? They're in the luxury tax. Felton's salary is around 7 ish million dollars a year so they'd pay double his salary prorated for the rest of the year ... around 7 million dollars.

Can't wait for half the people here to be clamoring for him to be back next season.

I still think there's a good chance he turns things around, in the can't get worse sort of thinking. If you can get the TPE and a 1st, while at the same time giving Nolan more minutes, ultimately that's probably a good thing. I really like Nolan. But also, would hope we find something for that TPE, since we would essentially be renouncing it in the offseason to have cap space.

If Nate's still here there's no chance in hell he'd resign here.

I worded it bad. Meant, during next season, people saying they wished he was here. Same way most seemed to hate Andre at the end of last season, or before, yet now wish he was still here. Seems to be a never ending cycle with some positions here, or just players in general.

I had forgotten that aspect of the salary cap.

    Re: Raymond Felton to Lakers?

I'm against giving away a player especially to the lakers. He has sucked but we have nothing to replace him with, Crawford at the point won't work for long term. If the lakers want him I want both there first and Dallas's first they got for Odom.

Can they package a TE with a player, for another player?

I.E., Felton to the Lakers for a TE + Pick.

TE + Pick + Matthews for Nash?

NOT SAYING that is what I propose.

TE can only be used for one player. It can't be combined with another player. But you could pull a Portland by using the TE for James because Phoenix was going to sell us the first rounder.

The TE can't be packaged with a player, I think it can be packaged with a pick though.

Felton can definitely net us at the very least a draft pick. Everyone seems to forget that Felton was a near all-star last year and any team making a push for the playoffs would love to have the guy. He will be significantly better with the next team/coach.

I agree with this, I don't get why everyone just assumes he has no value because he has sucked with us. He is having the worst season of his career and anyone trading for him has to believe they can have him play near the level he did last year.

You just do it as a 3 way deal. Felton to Lakers. Matthews to PHX. 1st to PHX from LA. Nash to us.

No, the TE is it's own little "slot" in the trade and has to completely cover something coming back. You can't combine it with more to "add up" to a larger salary.

Yeah, you could do it that way, cutting out the TE completely since the TE is more restrictive.
