i was gonna ask who won, but then i realised i really couldnt give a fuck. it sounds like they changed it (again) for the worse. they let fans vote on the allstar players, maybe let some of us help them with the dunk contest. its been terrible for years.
They should make the dunk contest all the old past champs trying to recreate their past glory.... now THAT I would watch. Jordan Nique Dr. J Tell me that wouldn't be hilarious.
I thought the 2-ball dunk was the best of the night, so I was happy with the winner. The blackout dunk looked like a good dunk, but I cancel out that dunk because of the incredibly lame theatrics involved. I like that there's no judges as long as there isn't a star in the contest. If Blake Griffin was in it, he would have won no matter what happened. Overall, the contest was bad, but I love the dunk contest so I still enjoyed it.
What was that!!!!??? Just finished watching it with HCPJr. So sad how far this shit has fallen off! I tried explaining to him what it was like watching Dr.J vs Larry Nance........ Jordan vs 'Nique........ this shit was wacked!
Sprite needs to put $1,000,000 on the table and get the real dunkers out! 'Bron...... Rose........ Griffin...... guys like that!
Tonight, Rubio only took two tries to bounce the ball off the edge of the backboard. A couple of years ago, Pao Gasol couldn't do it in about 8 tries when Rudy wanted to do exactly the same dunk but had to do a different one because of Gasol's incompetence. I guess that dunk is big in Spain. And you guys romanticize past dunk contests. This thing has always been rigged.
Anybody remember Terrance Stansbury? Played for the Pacers and Sonics if I remember correctly. Guy used to throw down some nice dunks back in the day but always finished behind MJ and 'Nique!
He was shafted in the dunk contest, because he was a no-name. The biggest name in the dunk contest always wins. Some of the posts in this thread are dissatisfied with this year because there were no big names. That's exactly what I want. No big names to bias the judges, which are now us.
