I guess it's an assumption that other NBA fans and analysts will agree with me. Sorry for assuming that a Western Conference Finals team that adds an (if healthy) All-Star player to their roster are the favorites over the good teams from last year that've done nothing to improve. I also said the Suns had to play some defense. Obviously they can't just outscore thir opponents. I said they were similar, not the same. They're similar to the 80's teams in that their style of play is up-tempo with a lot of transition points. That's how 80's team played.
Like I said earlier, I will wait and see how Amare performs before I make any assumptions. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I said they were similar, not the same.</div> What is the difference? Similar, same? They mean the same thing.

A good team that hasn't made it it the Finals. Also, don't throw excuses if Suns had Amare, they would have been in the Finals. They didn't, and they didn't make the Finals. Move on. Stop assuming what would have happened.

I'm not living in a dreamworld and contemplating what if's, it's just a waste of time. Example: What if my parents did not have sexual intercourse the night I as a baby sperm entered my mother's egg and therefore would later on be conceived on Sept. 8 1986. Would I still be here? Just busting your balls ballerman, but I just don't see the point of what if's.

All I am saying is that being eliminated in the WCF in 6 games is nothing to hang your head about when you are playing without a top 10 caliber player in the league
Suns do play defense. except that they have to play it for way more possesions than other slower paced teams thats why the other teams scores more. to compare the suns defense to other teams you have to look at points per possesion not points per minute.
Suns fans are forgetting that their best player will be aging and don't expect him to play at an MVP level again and the same with Amare. They will be the 3rd best team in the Western Conference and maybe 4th depending on the rockets.

This has to be the most commonly used unfounded opinion used in the last 5 years
Nash will still play at that level. His problem is his back and he will finally be able to cut down his minutes this year. Amare is fine. He says he's about 80% right now with about 3 months to go until the season and he's and upgrade over TT no matter what. The Suns team is going to be better than last year and if you're expecting them to be 4th you'll be in for a surprise. Well you know what I figured it out... the last 2 seasons they weren't supposed to make the playoffs or at least have a pretty low seed but they made the Western Conference Finals. Now that some people like you are still doubting the team and saying they might be 4th then I guess they are winning the championship this year....HOORAY!

He really was the third option on offense for us behind Fin and Dirk. But I never really heard those breakdown things till he went to Suns, I think a reason Mavs fans just wanted to negate the loss. Also, I thought Yanks and Braves do make the playoffs every year?
I know, he's saying that people say the Braves won't win the division and they usually do or something like that. Nash didn't show up near the end of the playoffs because we played 2 7-game series and he got a career high in minutes and with the back problems he had that's not good. I think now with Banks they can cut his minutes during the regular season by 5-7 minutes and I don't expect another 7-game first round series so I think he'll be fine for another year. Most of the time with us he played well in the playoffs.
It's just a matter of time before Nash's back gives out. Hopefully he has one year left of quality level point guard before he slows down.
Hey I like it. It has worked for them and made them a winning team and it makes them really entertaining to watch. Sure they won't be a championship winning team w/ it but I love watching that type of run and gun game they play.
Yeah that's how I feel also. It is very entertaining but in tight situations in the playoffs it is hard to run and be loose and there is when it fails. The suns will need defense which they don't have much of except for Bell.
They have gotten plenty of players that can run and play defense. Banks is very fast and athletic and is a nice defensive player, James Jones has had some great defensive games, Kurt Thomas isn't the best runner but he fit well in our offense and played great D, Marion(duh), Diaw has done a pretty nice job with every part of his game and of course Bell like you said. Nash, Barbosa and maybe Amare(even though he can get some blocks) are the ONLY ones that can't play defense on the team and Barbosa does have some nice games though. He played good D vs. LA while Raja was suspended. I just don't get the whole argument about them not winning it when they were so close without 2 key players of the team they were trying to put together. And I still can't believe how people still think they can't play D when they were so undersized this season BUT with KT they had a better FG% against than the Mavs who keep getting praise for their defense and the Suns were also top 10 in a lot of defensive stats I saw at that time. I've said that a thousand times on the forum. The ONLY reason they may lose this year is because of the Mavs very nice offseason moves.
Few things:Heatfan32, why do you just listen to stupid reporters and repeat what they say on here? The Lakers in the 80s and those glory days were a more run and gun team, so why bother posting "nobody has ever made the finals derka derka let alone derka won them, derka." stop.Next, nash is going to be amazing because without his 5 extra pounds of hair, his back will have less weight.I forgot the other thing i was going to say
