Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History For the Sixers There is Andrew Toney. But he might not have been a true role player scice he averade 15 ppg in his career with Philadelphia. But he is talked about alot. A better example is Bobby Jones. He didnt bring much offensively, but he helped us defensively. We probably would have not won the Championship in '83 if not for him. Cant forget Eric Snow. He was the best backcourt mate to compliment AI. His solid play helped us to the Finals. Other mentions: Aaron McKie, Dekimbe Mutombo, Theo Ratliff, World B. Free.
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History Ron Harper and Robert Horry were great during the threepeat. Ron provided veteran leadership to a fairly young team and helped to introduce the triangle. He was almost a coach on the floor. Horry hit the big shots and provided the hustle they needed during the championship runs.
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History for the celtics id definitly have to say Robert Parrish

I highly doubt an 18 point 10 rebound per game player a role player. The man is a 9 time all star and a hall of famer.I would have to say Bobby Jones for Denver, Im not sure if he is the greatest but you cant overlook the fact he is an amazing defensive player. Actually, He is one the all-time best defensive forwards in ABA and NBA history.
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History haha i dont know i guess if you put it that way...its differentbut i felt Parrish with the boards was a role player because of the way he complimented Bird..maybe you guys dont get what i mean but whatever

I mean sure, Parish did all the dirty work, blocked shots, and played defense. But he still wasn't a role player man. Like Balla said, a 9-time All-Star and a HOF player is nowhere near a role player in my book. A role player is Ben Gordon, not Robert Parish.
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History blah i dunno then man..maybe Walter McCarty..at least in the basketball ive seen (im just 16)he was so clutch
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History the greatest role player of all time Marc Jackson...When he played for the pacers he was such a huge role to that team...!
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History orlando magic - nick anderson before the free throws went bad
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History its gotta be nick van exel, griffin, najera (especially), and daniels (for a while).i cant think of more right now
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History Kurt Thomas from what I have seen. I'm sure there have been better. When a guy has so much impact on your teams overall play like he does then he definetly is one of the top role players ever on our team.
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History Sam Perkins,AC Green,Robert Horry,Derek Fisher...just a few
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History sam perkins in seattle was sweet too and he is a tarheel=D
Re: Greatest Role Players In Your Team's History The Microwave was Detroits greatest Role Player. Vinnie Johnson backing up Isiah and Joe Dumars in the Bad Boys days was huge. Mark Aguirre and Rick Mahorn are also great role players for Motown. Nowadays, Lindsey Hunter and Flip Murray probably fit the bill.
