Theres no sense in getting Nash now.... too far out

I will never give up on this team and if I didn't give a shit, then I really wouldn't care. Hell why the fuck would I even be in these forums unless I truly cared about our Blazers? I want a winning product; but more importantly, I want a team I can be proud of. If we get beat by a better team, playing 100% effort, I am totally fine with it. My problem is this team looks like they don't give a rats ass about winning. Or at least caring enough to play hard every night.

Yeah you can blame the "shortened season" but I'm seeing many other teams in the league giving 100% effort on the same shortened season.

 

That is the asking price; stop fooling yourself. The Blazers don't have the leverage because Phoenix knows the Blazers are desperate for a point guard and they aren't desperate to trade Nash.

 

I will not condone or support Batum being used for Nash or Rondo. I am hoping management could get it done without Batum. Maybe E will instead. If that isn't a possibility, then I'm fine with it not happening.

Wallace is a contract they may jump for, IMO. What if Nash asked to be traded to Portland (I know it's a dream)? Why can't E. Will, Wallace, Rhino and Felton be worth Nash, Frye and Warrick/Childress? We unload a few of their bad contracts and get serviceable role players that already know Nash.

 

And they get a pile of shit. In all honesty, Mags, Phoenix would be better off dealing him to the L*kers for a TPE and a pick than anything we could offer. The TPE wouldn't work straight up, so they might need a third team involved. Orlando, LAL and Phoenix could swap where LAL get Howard, Nash and Hedo for Bynum and Gasol going to Orlando. Phoenix getting TPE's and picks from both

 

I guess we will see which offer Phoenix takes.

 

The Blazers are about to experience a serious losing streak. Check their schedule. It's over. I just hope they don't let Nate McMillan within 100 miles of the draft room.

 

Well one positive will be Nate is gonna get fired. If this team is 2-3 games under .500 in the next 10 games; he's a goner.

 

I am really hoping this team pulls it's head out of it's ass and gets a good talent evaluating GM in here before the draft. And yes. Nate McMillan should be no where near the war room

There are times, many this season, where I feel just like your avatar about the Blazers. I will admit that I am borderline "meltdown mode" this season. I need xanex.

 

I've lost faith in this team making the "right" decision... Nate should have been fired long ago.

 

This is a great point. I have been screaming for this team to make a move with their coach, GM, adding more draft picks to rebuild, etc. But with the people in place, I am scared shitless about what they might do for a new coach, GM, or with those draft picks.

 

There's no need. Just sit back and think about how this season began. Greg Oden and Brandon Roy removed from not only the team's plans but also their pool of assets. For all intents and purposes the Roy and Oden picks have (essentially) vanished into thin air ... most teams that select busts at least get to move those busts in trades at some point and get at least something of value (even if it's only some cash or a second round pick). There's just no amount of bondo or duct-tape to patch these kind of losses. If anything we should probably all be amazed that they've been as competitive as they are.

I think a lot people just got swept up in the hot 7-2 start and assumed this team was destined for great things and now things have settled in to a more realistic place. Keep your chin up; who knows, maybe we'll even draft a really good player this June?
