Re: elson won't be matched I think Elson will do fine. I think this will help his confidence greatly. It's really a shame they couldn't complete the trade for Smith at the deadline though.
Re: elson won't be matched Not a bad pickup but I think Butler is the one that is going to make an impact for them. Elson is a backup for sure.
Re: elson won't be matched Well, im glad to see that we got this guy. He is young and is underrated IMO. He did some decent things for Denver when Nene went down so i am hoping that both him and butler do good things for the Spurs this year.

There is no way the spurs could have signed Gooden, they didnt have enough cap room, also the spurs 5 man is going to suck if you compare them to David Robinson. 5-0 is a hall of fame center and what he did for the spurs will never be topped by any player so i think that is an un fair comparison.

Being a center in college doesnt make you a center in the pro's.....his natural position is the PF spot. That is why you see him shooting 17 foot jumpers off of the glass.

Re: elson won't be matched Since this guy is going to be starting and still has room for development, I think he will be an effective player at C, and I think the Spurs will do good to have JButler to back him up.
