The Trade from Indy to Dallas Croshere said it was emotional to get traded after spending 9 yrs. in Indy. However, he said after 24 hrs. that emotion was replaced by the excitement of joining a new environment. Croshere said he got used to the trade rumors after a while and did his best to ignore them. However, he said he was not shocked he got traded. He thinks the trade will work out well for both teams. He doesn't have any hard feelings at all towards the Pacers. Opinion of Dallas Croshere said at this point in his career, he just wants to be part of a team that wants to win and a franchise that does things the right way. He said from the outside looking in that Dallas is clearly one of those teams. He said from being in the NBA for 9 yrs. you realize a lot of teams in the league aren't like that and fans in Dallas should be appreciative of the fact that their team does things the right way. From his view, he said it appears Dallas has great chemistry and great leadership. Croshere said the Mavs have a good mix of players who know their role which is a credit to Avery. He said he spoke to Avery the day of the trade and was in Dallas for one day when he took his phsyical, but most people in the organization were in Vegas for the summer league. He is planning on coming back next week with his wife to get settled and do a little house hunting. Thoughts on Dirk Croshere said Dirk is clearly as good as it gets when it comes to PF's in the NBA. He said it's obvious how much Dirk has improved each year he has been in the league. He knows Dirk is a tremendously hard worker and a gym rat. Croshere said he loves to practice and work hard on his game as well. He is really looking forward to being around Dirk. Role in Indy & new role in Dallas In Indy, he said he was the first frontcourt player off the bench. He said he was Jermaine O'Neal's primary backup, but that he also played beside him because he is more of a perimeter player. He thinks he will obviously backup Dirk, but that the two of them can also play together. He views himself as a spark plug player off the bench. He said he will do the little things to help the team win and he also enjoys doing the dirty work. View of Mark Cuban Croshere said Cuban is obviously an unconventional owner, but you can't argue with his success. He said Cuban thinks outside the box and is not afraid to make a mistake. He likes the fact that Cuban gives his team every opportunity to win and also will do whatever it takes to win a title. Eastern Conf. vs. Western Conf. He thinks there is a slight difference in style of play in the East vs. the West. He said the West has a more open court style while the East is a little more plodding. In the East, Croshere said they tend to throw the ball in the post more and play more possession bball. He thinks he actually fits better in a more open court style of game. He said in the past, his numbers have usually been better in games vs. the Western Conf.http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/lmf/vpost?id=1260478
