Shit! Why didn't you say so? We should trade him right now. Improve that draft position!

its also a great way to tell future free agents who choose less money to come to portland about what a short leash you have on them before dealing them for crap.

No worthwhile free agents are coming to Portland for less money. Crawford being traded at the deadline on a team going nowhere is not going to be important to future free agents anyway.

well, not anymore. he was offered more money in Sacramento IIRC.

To me, Portland needs to change its management before its players. probably not going to happen, but trades like this will have no real impact on anything.

Then what the fuck are they waiting for?

Somehow land Jennings from Milwaukee and see if he would fit with LA and Batum

Crawford, IMO, is not a terribly significant free agent and he wasn't drawing huge interest. We could, of course, spend time debating what a "significant" free agent is, but to me it's one that you'd feel regretful if they decided to sign with another team. Crawford didn't (and doesn't) rise to that level for me.

I agree with that. There's no magic trade that will create a winning organization. Great organizations are based on great management. Acquiring talent is a byproduct of having the right people in charge.

Probably waiting to not have to take back mediocre contracts like Ridnour.

I'd be happy to add Jennings, and see how he went with them. If nothing else, he doesn't lack for confidence.

I'd rather somehow add LeBron James. I think he's a better player.

I would see if we could get a pick out of it too. Amundson and Hill are both expiring and I like the idea of bringing in Hill and starting him. See if he can recapture some of the magic he had in San Antonio.

I don't encourage it. Andre Miller sank what could have been a dynasty and I, for one, will never forgive him. That alone prevents me from ranking Miller among the ten greatest point guards ever to play the game.

He's better by the hairline argument. The hairline argument is more widely accepted anyways.

You were a proponent of bringing in Miller, therefor you encouraged the demise of this once great franchise. A pox on your house!

No, he is NOT from Oregon. Ridnour is from Washington, but went to U of O.

That's like saying Kevin Love is from CA or Kyle Singler is from North Carolina because of where they played college basketball.
