Ok. So they aren't mutually exclusive but... With the trade deadline coming up, I am very curious as to what management does (or doesn't) in regard to changes. If we do something along the lines of the much discussed Blake for Felton trade, I see no vision or future, but rather Futile Mediocrity. If there is a bold move which improves the team but at long-term cost (say, for example, Nash), perhaps that is short-term vision but does not necessarily make for a good future. Unfortunately, experience has show great ineptitude in the front office and that lack of talent evaluating ability, lack of vision, lack of anything has largely caused me to put Blazer dreams on the back burner and bring new visions of Telfair (Armon, Nolan, put your favorite PGoF here), Ha, and other similar successes back to the forefront. Even if we do somehow luck out (whether through trade or through poor play) with a good draft position, I'm afraid of another Martell Webster, let's-pass-on-the-highly-probable-successes-and-try-this! What the team desperately needs is another Brandon Roy. LaMarcus is a very good player but he doesn't seem to have the leadership or cajones to force his will on the team and take us over a hump. Roy gave the team, and us fans, something that is missing now; hope and confidence. Gramps...
Very well said. It would be nice to see a move that may not look good now, but come to fruit later. Maybe something like, let's say nash, but use other pieces to grab some picks in this nice draft. We could try and pry a couple late first rounders and try and trade up. Maybe 10th pick. It maybe a Long shot but it's worth a try.
I agree with you. Mr. Kolde needs to get a deceit pick for us this year. I doubt we can do anything great with cap space, so getting a 2 or three picks in this draft would be nice.
I think getting some late first rounders can be obtainable, especially since we would be trading with playoff teams. Maybe a team needing Wallace to be that final piece to their contention? Maybe Orlando wouldn't mind being our trading partner? I think Wallace would be a nice compliment to Howard. I could see New York being very interested in Crawford and Wallace as well. Hell New York maybe interested in Felton too. We could work a three-way with New York and Phoenix and get New York's pick. I think there are options out there. It's just we need a GM to get it done.
