<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Press Release - The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has traded guard J.R. Smith to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Howard Eisley and two 2007 second-round draft picks from the Nuggets. The two second-round selections are Denver?s regular second-round pick in 2007, as well as the less favorable of Golden State?s 2007 regular second-round selection and Boston?s 2007 regular second-round selection.Eisley, a 6-2, 185-pound point guard, was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (30th overall) of the 1994 NBA Draft. A 12-year veteran, he has played for eight different teams and posted averages of 6.5 ppg, 3.5 apg, 1.7 rpg and 20.4 mpg in 786 career appearances (167 starts).</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/416...nd_round_picks/ :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: We were already the BEST fastbreak team in the league but this makes our transition game even more amazing. This was a huge steal for us. Im very excited.
I have to admit, I'm pretty happy. The Nuggets are my third favorite team and JR is one of my favorite non Lakers. I think he'll fit in well with them and their style of play. I wonder if he'd even unpacked his bags yet.
Melo and J.R. Wow. Great pick up for Denver. This helps them with there shooting just a little bit. If the get a real good pg the could be a contender.
Sweet deal for the Nuggets. He looks to have some serious potential. He should grow into a good player with the surrounding cast in Denver, and they got him for nothing.Sweet trade!
This kills for the nuggets. If this kid gets his priorities in line anad his head straight...he is going to be so good. he still only like 20 or 21 so he still has alot of potential. excellent pick up for the nuggets
I expected this to happen for a while now. He doesnt fit in with the Bulls. Scott Skiles won't tolerate JR not working hard, and taking bad shots and not trying as hard as he could. I mean, if Byron Scott feuded with him, JR Smith would certainly not be a Scott Skiles person. I dont know how George Karl will tolerate him either. I know he didnt like Carmelo slacking at all. But this is great for Denver. They really need a SG now, more then ever now that Greg Buckner left. He should get alot of minutes. They needed someone to score some points, and step up and shoot when the time is right. JR can score, and he is still very young. He will be a 3rd year player coming out of high school next season, so he still has alot of time to work on his game. He has a shot too. The only thing is that he takes bad shots and shoots a very low percentage. That could be a bit of a problem. Also, the Bulls have Kirk Hinrich (who plays alot of time at the two next to Chris Duhon). Also, they have Ben Gordon who plays 35 minutes a game, and is a key scorer, shooter, and playmaker for the Bulls. Also, rookie Thabo Sefelosha will get some time at the two, and also at the three. And then, finally they have a wildcard like Eddie Basden who could possibly make the squad. That is alot of depth at the two, and they just wouldnt have time for JR.
That's awesome for the Nuggets, they are getting their starting shooting guard in Smith to play with Melo. This is sweet for Denver hopefully J.R.Smith has matured enough to play under George Karl. The Bulls are getting 2 picks and a veteran point guard in Howard Eisley.Seemingly the Bulls are turning into a team with more experienced players and veteran leadership to go along with their young talent.
Swept? Come on. It isnt a bad move by Chicago too. They give up a player that they dont need because of all the depth and talent they already have at Shooting Guard and who could be detrimental to their team and in the locker room. He shoots a low percentage, he complains, and he doesnt work hard. That's a complete opposite of how the Bulls' players play. And they get a couple of draft picks and a veteran pg.

Badsen has a team option, which to my knowledge has not been picked up, as of yet atleast.
Ah yes, I forgot about Griffin. And I said "they have a wildcard", whih means that he could possibly not make the team..
I think Denver would have been better off with a shooter. They can still get one, and JR is a good addition, but a shooter would help a lot more.
:yesserfect fit, our fast break is out of this world now. He can shoot like CB4 pointed above, and I know George Karl can shape up his act.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Jul 21 2006, 01:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>JR can shoot. He had a .371 3pt% last year, which means that he can sink the 3 pointer.</div>exactley. do you guys remember watching him in the McDonalds All American game a couple years ago when he was pulling up from like 5 feet behind the 3 point line and sinking them? I sure do and I knew that when he was coming in to the league, he was going to be a 3 point shooter AND a high flyer. He is going to do very well in Denver if he gets the playing time. And i think that he will considering that is their weakest spot on the team.

You guys act like JR Smith is the greatest thing ever. You do realise that he wasnt even getting off the bench for the Hornets?

I think JR is going to excel in Denver. It's the perfect place for him, he gets a good coach, a playmaking PG, a team that runs the break and can use his athleticism to their advantage, a team that needs and will use his shooting, and a team that will give him his shot to improve by playing. He didn't have a great relationship with Byron Scott, but I think coach Karl is going to be good for JR. Not only is Karl a good guy and a guy that respects his players, but a guy that will look to push him and get the best out of him. Denver Nuggets basketball is going to be extremely exciting to watch this season.
He was only a 2nd year vet out of high school. He has loads of talent and athleticism, and he will likely become a good player in Denver unless he gets his ass kicked out by George Karl for not working hard or for feuding with him.
