I think JR is going to excel in Denver. It's the perfect place for him, he gets a good coach, a playmaking PG, a team that runs the break and can use his athleticism to their advantage, a team that needs and will use his shooting, and a team that will give him his shot to improve by playing. He didn't have a great relationship with Byron Scott, but I think coach Karl is going to be good for JR. Not only is Karl a good guy and a guy that respects his players, but a guy that will look to push him and get the best out of him. Denver Nuggets basketball is going to be extremely exciting to watch this season.</div>J.R. wasnt suffering any injury issues. Its cause he was a dumbass on the court and put up horrible shots and was really ineffective. I dont see how you can call Denver the perfect place for him... Bryon Scotsss a good coach, Chris Pauls is a playmaking PG, the Hornets run the break, we needed shooting, and he did have his shot to improve while playing. He started for most of the season and then we benched him then the Hornets started playing better. J.R. Smith was too worrried about doing the Chicken Dance or some other kinda dance during warmups for games than to actually.... uh warm up.

Playing garbage ball at Rucker Park and other foolish crap. I don't think he takes his career seriously although he's worth the risk for Denver since he's still on his rookie deal.

Smith only played like 50 games this year, and unless my memory serves me wrong, he had some ankle issues.2. Scott is a very good coach, I never said he wasn't. I actually think Scott is easily the most underrated coach in the NBA and he was on my top 3 list for Coach of the Year this year. But Karl's system is different.3. Chris Paul is a great player, a great playmaker, and the Hornets do indeed run the break. But not like Denver. The Nuggets are one of the top teams in the league on the break and they will take full advantage of his athleticism and shooting ability.Maybe I worded it wrong in my first post, but I just feel this more up-tempo style will help him on the court and I think just the overall new atmosphere, or new beginning, will benefit him. He needed a change of scenery and he went to a team that needs him and a team where he has fresh relationships with the coaching staff.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BCB @ Jul 24 2006, 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If J.R. For all we know he could be running sprints right now.
I was reading on another forum about his amazing dunks at Rucker park...etc..and how well he was playing there in his games....I think it's obvious to anyone with a brain that JR Smith is a doof.
Celtic Balla, your memory does serve you wrong. J.R. Smith only played 50 games last year because he couldnt get off the bench
 The Okie. I agree with a lot of what you said. I'm surprized but I understand JR Smith is still young and people think he will get his act together. All I can is judging from his comments when he arrived in Denver. It ain't happened yet. It's still a low risk, high reward pickup, let's see how it pans out.
This was the smartest move this off season for DEN. They've lacked a decent SG for quite a while, and since JR will develop a lot as his career progresses, he will bring a lot to this team unless he leaves.
