The 8th place Rockets are turning out to be our key to making the playoffs. They are on a four game losing streak and are losing to Toronto right now. If they lose and we win tonight, we'll only be one game behind them. What sucks is that they've beaten us twice already so we probably won't have the tiebreaker. Do we play two more games against them? I don't feel like looking it up.
Many of us care about making the playoffs. That you don't, and actively root against it on a Blazer forum, makes you kind of ridiculous, doesn't it?
Well ... I don't much. An 8th seed almost guarantees yet another 1 and done. To me there's no material difference between barely getting in and barely missing the post-season.
I don't think the draft is the rout we should focus on. Look at Chad's track record -- He has a HORRIBLE eye for talent.
Which is why we need the highest (lowest?) pick in the draft we can get. Or better yet, several first rounders through trades. Something about a blind nut finding a squirrel.
Utah, Phoenix, and GS have a great shot at passing us in the standings. Then it's a matter of whether not Milwaukee has a run in them. If they beat us too, we'll have the 9th spot in the lottery. Not bad.
