These 2 guys are not even close to be 1 or 2 options on a team. Try 2-3 at BEST! Watching Batum its pretty clear he will always be a 3rd option or 4th option. The other problem is figuring out what the hell Batum is. A SG or SF? I just saw a thread saying we need to draft a SG? I though Batum was our SG for future? Lol the truth is we are so desperate for something out of this miserable season that Batum is the only hope we are clinging on to. But when u really watch him closely you realize he's just a decent starter in the NBA and cant come close to be a number 2 option.

As for LA.... Love has abused the guy. Watching the 2 play, its not even close. LA might be better if he had a PG but I think he still would disappear late in games. Has anyone ever noticed how much he fades late in games?? Last night the guy couldn't do a thing in the final qtr. He looks like he has the woe is me attitude at the moment. Least he got his all star game though. Liked him better when he was getting snubbed.

So we have barely a 2nd option in LA and a 3rd option in Batum. Lotto hell for many years unless we get some luck and get a stud who can cover up for those 2.

Let me ask you... are we winning with these 2 guys as 1 or 2 options? Did the twolves not just kick the shit out of us 2 times in a row? Am I missing something?

That's not being a troll, it's being objective and honest. Aldridge is a very good basketball player, but in reality he is more of a Robin than a Batman. Batum is also not quite a Robin, but more of a complimentary player. A glue guy if you will.

I don't see the point of this thread. Aldridge and Batum are very good players no? I wish we could manufacture a superstars out of thin air but that just isn't possible.

Aldridge is an awesome no. 2 on a championship team. Batum is an awesome no. 3 -- a glue guy as mm said, but a necessity if a team is going to be successful. I don't think there are that many on this board who strongly disagree with that. Although, given the right Point Guard and supporting cast, I could easily see Aldrdge as a no. 1.

The manic delivery of the OP's analysis is a bit trollish to some, I suppose, but moreso is the constant harping on the same tired note. :dunno:

These last thirty games, I want us to develop Nic as much as possible. Give him the ball extensively, and let him figure out what to do with it. It will give us an indication of whether he can be a legit option on a contender without many consequences.

Aldridge has the potential to be a legit #1, so NO, I don't buy that he is at best a #2 player...

The problem with Aldridge is that he has crappy\bad fitting players around him, teams can just double team Aldridge all day with little\no reprecussions...you can say that LA needs to get his ass in the paint more that he needs to aggressively take the ball to the basket, but that is hard to do when defenses are keyed in on you and double teaming you...He is a smart team player who when double teamed does the rigt thing, pass out of it...what he needs to do better is call for the ball back and yes sometimes, be a little selfish and take the ball to the basket.

Aldridge has some tendencies to play soft, he has tendencies to settle for jumpshots and I do not think he is a great emotional leader, but having said that he is 26, he has made great strides the past few years and if you surround him with the right players then he can certainly be a #1.....

That being said, I don't think he is "untouchable" in trade talks, but it would take a HELL of a deal....

With Nate's unimaginative offense, we will go nowhere..... Mark my words, new coach will revitalize LA's inside game. Why? Because he'll have more room to operate, since our offense wont just be a "lets pass the ball into the post and watch LMA". Both Batum and LMA will surge with a new coach.

Mixum this thread reeks negativity. How about instead of calling out the only two players playing constantly this season, we start our rant on the other 13 players that suck! Was Charles barkley a legit #1 option in Philly? They were lottery bound for years with him being the #1 option. How about Miami with wade? 1 or two players can win you games. You need a team. So sorry I think you are dead wrong. We need chemistry to compliment lma and Batum. We need a coach.

Don't write anyone off yet. Especially batum and aldridge. They have both stepped up their games exponentially in the offseason. It's up to management right now to put the right pieces together.
