Buchanan is in New Orleans scouting the SEC tourny.

So it's Larry Miller fielding trade offers/proposals.

    Think about that.

    We're fucked.

    Either way.

But Larry, a shoe guy, should not be making roster decisions.

You guys really think Larry or Chad are making the call? This is all about Allen, otherwise he would have hired a real GM by now.

I know multi-tasking is above the skill-level of most of the posters on this board, but I would have to think Chad is very much involved even if he is scouting. He even said he's talked to every team recently (not that I necessarily believe it, but I have to believe he's actively talking).

    Hilariously stupid post.
Did they outlaw cell phones in New Orleans?

If the most important ability in sports is availability then no, Bogut is not.

One PG I'm hearing #Blazers don't have interest in: Toronto's Jose Calderon. His salary ($10mill+ next season) doesn't jibe w Port's plan

I think the plan is to acquire more square pegs for the round holes of this roster.

At least if we trade for Bogut, and he's injured, he won't hurt our lottery chances! :)

I don't want a $10mil Calderon killing our cap this summer. Sorry. I'd much rather have a draft pick and cap room.

If their plan is not to take on salary for next year in thinking they can actually sign a big time free agent they are stupid. It also means not a lot of activity at the deadline and they will let guys that are expiring just walk for nothing

I highly doubt we get a big time free agent, and doubt we'll go after one.
However, I can see SOME thought to a clearing of the decks before bringing in a new GM. I don't agree totally. I would still like to see us move Wallace, Camby, etc. for young pieces and/or picks. But, the thinking could very easily be, let's get to May, perhaps, get a new GM in here before the draft, and let that GM build his team. He starts with basically Aldridge and Matthews under contract. So you don't bring someone in who has one vision, but you've added salary he just has to look to move. Clean slate in a way.

Personally, I wouldn't be shocked if they're pursuing players for the future who are under contract for at least the next season or two. But Calderon isn't much of an upgrade, so why eat up cap space for a marginal upgrade with one year remaining on his contract? If they could get a Rondo, they would, and they would happily sacrifice the cap space. Well, this is my belief as to how they are, or should be, approaching trades right now.

Ken Berger says there is nothing 'hot' at the moment for the Blazers but have made it clear to teams that they're listening to offers for Wallace.

    Mind = Blown.
