i mean is it something to do with the areas they're from or the schools they go to?because i know there's these great players all over the country from high schools that dont get noticed but how was Lebron James just spotted and known as NBA-Bound out of millions of kids..i mean he could of just dominated the league due to it's weakness..just like a lot of thousands of other kids dobut how would a high school player be able to get noticed as a nba-bound player?(dont say anything about the new rule because i know about it but..just try to explain how they noticed Lebron but maybe not this kid from the south who had just as much game)

I think the main reason is that he played with all htese nationally known teams in the off-season, and reporters started noticing his game. They realized the talent and all around offensive game he had, and from there they put all that stuff over the internet and in interviews, and on TV. And from there it just blew up.

how about college scouts? - the scouts shares this stuff with the head coach of the college, and the coach gets stuff out by word of mouth about the kid, and everybody starts getting curious, and it just blows up into one big ball of hype - than it gets on ESPN and you got yourself a HS player getting noticed.-internet has revolutionized a lot of this stuff too - places like youtube where you can post videos and stuff to spread the word really can have an affect.

Most high school players that are bound straight for the NBA (well, back when they were allowed to anyway) usually transferred to a prep school early in their high school careers, allowing them to play on those nationally ranked teams. That's how you get exposure. Not to mention playing AAU ball, winning AAU tourneys, being invited to all the camps (ABCD, Nike, etc.) and the whole nine yards. There are a lot of ways to get their names out there, but RARELY does a player successfully jump from high school to the NBA. Most HS players are just trying to get their name out there to be recruited for college.
