the fans that stopped showing up when they began losing, and then started showing up after roy draft, and now seem to be not packing the place as often?
This thread gave me a good laugh. There is no reasoning with you shooter, but thats fine your a fan of this team and your opinion differs from mine. We have made a lot of moves to have a ton of capspace to build around LA this summer. Why dont we wait tell next season when we see what we look like with a ton of new talent and a new coach before we start asking to trade our franchise player.
She was the issue between Kidd and Jackson. JimmyJack pulled the heist. They also had Jamal Mashburn at the time. We're going back the early '90s, though.
You literally just answered your own stupid hypothetical WITHIN THE SAME SENTENCE. Tell me, how many of those guys won CHAMPIONSHIPS after they got traded? I can count at least 5 without reference. Yet you still try to advocate trading our BY FAR best player. Unbelievable. OK, hold on a sec. I'll play your stupid little game. If you want to trade Aldridge, who are you gonna get in return? You just cited MVPs as a reason(?) for getting rid of him. I f your proposal is gonna hold up AT ALL, we better be getting at least an MVP back in return. I can't think of ONE example where Team X trades their best player and actually DOES BETTER afterwards. I'm sure there's a couple, but not that sure...
That's very considerate of you Shooter. I agree. We should trade Aldridge off this team before he gets hurt and shortens his career. It's the right thing to do.
I'm probably going to get piled on for this. But, I'd trade Aldridge for Love. He's the only PF I'd trade Aldridge for.
I would too, in a heartbeat. Assuming GS would, would any of you do this? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6qe8g66
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7yes5n4 I'd throw in the pick. It's the Bobcats' protected 1st round pick. It'll be good, for sure, in 2016.
that's terrible for portland. A protected Charlotte pick would get you to move Aldridge and Matthews for Boozer, Asik and Watson? And you laugh at other's suggestions, and hammer on mediocrity.
You get a starting C, a starting PF who has been an all-star with a PER near 20, and a PG who plays D, shoots the 3, and can put up 30+ points on some nights, a deadly 3pt shooter off the bench who can play SG or SF. Plus the draft pick and cap relief. The deal works without Korver and Wallace. Post deal, the Blazers would be: Watson, Korver, Batum, Boozer, Asik. With Camby, Felton, Crawford, Joel off the bench. Post deal without Korver and Wallace: Watson, Batum, Wallace, Boozer, Asik With Camby, Felton, Crawford, Joel off the bench.
we get a well paid 30 year old PF who isn't getting us anywhere, a mediocre PG, and Korver. Fuck no. Cap relief? Where do we get cap relief from? From not keeping the people we traded for? So we'd be left with fucking Boozer. No. That deal sucks if a team is rebuilding. No rebuilding pieces! Awesome deal.
Korver is an expiring $5M. Watson plays D, is putting up 10 and 4 in 21 minutes, and shoots .432 from 3pt. Per 36, he's at 16/7. Not mediocre, but not a superstar either. But he might be the best PG you guys have had in years. You're also getting a 25 year old 7' center with no history of injuries, whose per 36 are 8/12 and is regarded as an elite post defender.
Yep. I see Boozer and Aldridge as a wash as to leading this team anywhere. They are both Robin's. Plus you get a nice young PG, Asik, who I would demand and a choice lotto pick in a few years, or a nice trade chip.
Boozer's per 36 are 19/10 on 53% shooting, his PER is 19.5, down from 20+ much of the season. Aldridge's per 36 are 21/8 on 52% shooting, his PER is awesome at 23.4. The Blazers clearly give up the best player in the deal, but the Bulls give back the 2nd and 3rd best players.
Asik is a free agent. We have cap space, we can sign him. Watson has an unguaranteed deal. We can sign them both if we wanted to. So we downgrade from Aldridge to Boozer, who is currently worse, and also about 4 years older. But paid more. Hell no. You build with stars, you hammer away telling us, and then you want to trade for a quantity over quality package. LOL. gtfo. no.
The Bulls will match offers for Asik. You can only offer $5M to start. The Bulls will resign Watson, too. Another possibility, this one includes a guy from this year's east all-star squad. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7ntyv9e
