Ellis and Jennings together? That can't last.

oops, sorry. thought the rumor one was primarily for our rumors, so didn't look in there for this one. Feel free to close if all trade deadline stuff is just going there.

I'm confused. Monta Ellis for a slightly above average big man that is always hurt? G.State got hosed IMO.

Bogut was 3rd team all nba when healthy. It's a gamble, that's for sure.

Come on, it's Golden State. Getting hosed is what they do.

But so do the Bucks! I think they both got hosed, which is a major achievement.

Monta Ellis has got to be pissed. Rumors had him maybe going to Orlando. My guess is that Milwaukie is one of the last places NBA players prefer to play.

When I saw that you responded, I assumed it was to say "you think NBA players want to come to Portland?". :devilwink:

No, but Portland can't be too far ahead of Milwaukee on that list

Not sure how MIL is getting hosed on this one. Bogut's out for the year and Capt. Jack and his coach were minutes from shooting each other. GSW gave up its best player/scorer, a decent big prospect and (of course)a former overall #1 in Kwame. The Bucks have to be dancing in the streets getting the package they did for an oft injured guy and a cancer who ironically enough the GSW's were willing to take back yet again. They (the dubs) just don't learn.

The local sports talk shows are all screaming bloody murder over this trade.

    To Portland I hope.

Ellis and Kwame for Camby and Wallace.

Monta was actually visibly excited in his first interview after the trade. Apparently he wanted out bad but kept it out of the public. He did say "of course they traded me to a non-playoff team" but he looked and sounded genuinely happy.

And as for trading him, most GS fans are happy we even got what we did for the guy. Hes been on the market for a few years and the only realistic rumors were things like Monta for Ryan Anderson, Monta for OJ Mayo and Thabeet, etc. He really didn't have that much value because GMs know hes not all that great. Hes a smaller Carmelo Anthony. Here is a GREAT analysis of the trade that goes into detail about how throughout his career the W's have been better when Monta doesn't play, largely because hes a huge detriment on defense:

It should be noted that Monta has an opt out after next season that he's very, very likely to take. He was going to leave GS and I imagine he's practically already made his mind up about leaving Milwaukee.

Its risky for GS but if Bogut stays healthy hes a top 5 C in the league. Its a gamble, but I'm more than willing to take it. Lee/Bogut is a frontline that can actually compete with the big boys. The W's are already trying to flip Jackson but in the event that they can't move him hes a 10 mil expiring contract next season. I can wait that out. Plus this could lead them back into the bottom 7 this season and allow them to pick up a Barnes/Beal/Jones type of prospect.

Sucks losing Udoh but I can deal.
