This is going to be the official UFC or MMA thread. Any UFC fans on this board?UFC 62: Liddell vs. Sobral, to me, seems to be a good card already. Liddell vs. Sobral, and wow, Griffin vs. Bonnar 2. Can't wait to see Bonnar fight Griffin again, and lose. Liddell will KO Sobral in the 3rd round, IMO. Sobral will try to take him to the ground countless times, and fail. (liddell has the best takedown defense in the L-hW division) Then, in the 3rd round as Sobral goes in for another takedown, Liddell knees him, and starts punching the crap out of him and knocks him out. IMO, Sobral is Liddell's warmup for Wanderlei Silva. Griffin and Bonnar will have a first round war, i predict. The 2nd round, I see them getting more serious, with Bonnar trying to take Griffin down. I see them on the ground for about 1-2 minutes, with Bonnar on top of him, while griffin almost submits him. in the 3rd round, I see Bonnar trying to bring Griffin down and Griffin dodges and bonnar gets KTFO.I want to here more updates on possible events in this card. Some rumors are Sean Sherk vs. TBA for the vacant lightweight title.

Well I don't know much about the UFC. But my favorite fighters are Chuck Liddell and Diego Sanchez.

Well, I'm an open book, dSoung. Have any questions, ask me anytime.Chuck Liddell, in my eyes is the best Light Heavyweight in the world right now.Diego Sanchez is a fighter I like, a lot. I hope he's successful, his next fight is scheduled for August 17th, on Ultimate Fight Night 6, on Spike TV starting at 8 PM, Eastern Time. He will be facing Karo Paryisan, a tough welterweight contender. This will be Sanchez' toughest challenge in the UFC thus far.

There was a Ultimate Fighter thread on here I posted in, so you can see my thoughts on the UFC in there. I think it's unpredictable to predict what's going to happen in a fight. I mean one punch or one mistake that leads to a submission and it's over. But I am rooting for a good fight between Griffin/Bonnar, UFC needs it after that debacle with Ortiz/Shamrock.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Ortiz/Shamrock stoppage was BS.</div> More like Shamrock was a dumbass. He took six or seven elbows to the face without trying to block. It's more his fault and I don't blame the ref for stopping. If he didn't, Ortiz would have just landed more and it would have been over. Honestly watching that, I don't know if Shamrock was trying to prove something by not blocking but he's lost it as a fighter and should just retire.

It was 5 elbows. The first elbow rocked Ken, for sure. The rest looked weak and were not hit in the right spot. Now, Herb Dean did not look at the circumstances. Ken Shamrock is a UFC Legend. Tito Ortiz is a UFC Legend. This was possibly the most hyped fight of the night, possibly for the year with the exception of Liddell/Couture III. Ken Shamrock had been training for this for 4 years. He is a submission specialist, and was in the guard position. Also, he has taken HARDER, much HARDER hits in his career before. Also, many fans payved $40 to watch that fight alone on PPV. Many fans went to see the event in person, for that event. Also, Yves Edwards was bleeding all over the mat in the first main card fight! Big John didn't even stop it! The doctors did after the first round was finished. So, okay, Dean stopped the fight. Was Ken unconscious? No. He got up right away. Perhaps, Dean could have called it a NC and reset the fight. Even Dana White did not agree with the stoppage and thought if Dean changed his mind and Ken stayed in the ring, they could have continued. Joe Rogan and Randy Couture disagreed with Dean's decision also.I loved how the crowd was yelling "bullsh**" after the fight.I wonder, why the hell was the Shamrock/Ortiz fight before Neer/Burkman though?Anyways, UFC 62: Liddell vs. Sobral will be a good event, from the looks of it. Liddell vs. Sobral will be a good rematch. Sobral should be strength training for this fight. He needs to work on some kicks and hooks and make his chin and shin iron. Liddell's jab and inside leg kicks are strong as hell. What Sobral needs to do in order to defeat Liddell is get a takedown if Liddell throws a big hook. Then, he needs to mount and use his strength to pound on Liddell and work on a submission.

Well this isn't the first time a title card match has ended quickly. It happens, you didn't acknowledge Ken didn't try to block any of those elbows and even if Herb didn't step in. Ortiz would have kept wailing. So sooner or later, Ortiz was going to win. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ken Shamrock had been training for this for 4 years. He is a submission specialist, and was in the guard position</div> Too bad he wasn't guarding and all the amount of training still doesn't makehim the same fighter he was before. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Was Ken unconscious? That will hurt him in the pocketbook.

Dana White is not the money-loving bastard everyone makes him to look like. Well, he is, but not as much as people think he is.Ken would eventually put his guard up, he couldn't keep on taking those hits. If he started blocking and moved position, which is possible, very possible at that position (I take Ju-Jitsu and Grappling)I know Ken is not where he was before, obviously. But he could have beat Tito, he could have. Sometimes, hard work cuts it for you.You know what Big John does? You know what he does in a situation like that?He asks the fighter, are you okay? lets get it going. To notify the fighter, the fight is on the line of ending. You won't change my mindset of thinking the fight stoppage was BS, or the thousands of others who think it is. I am pro-Shamrock, you are pro-Ortiz, so lets forget about this and disscuss the UFC Fight Night live on August 17th, the lead in to TUF 4.What are your thoughts on the card, and on the TUF 4 participants?I believe they should have gotten bigger names for TUF 4, like Guy Mezger, Pete Williams, Maurice Smith, Phil Baroni, Nick Diaz, etc.As for UFC FN, it is a mediocre card, but Nightmare vs. Heat and Leben vs. Santiago should be good fights. as well as the lister fight and koscheck vs. goulet.

Whose involved? On UFC FN, hopefully Leben can bounce back after the last one. I was surprized with the result of that fight.

David Terrell and Yushin Okami were added to the UFC 62 card, should be a good fight. What do you think Rok?
