Picks, cap space, no decent players of any sort...while retaining the same management team.

Like asking a methhead to hold your wallet. :tsktsk:

    What did we give up?

    Gerald Wallace
    Marcus Camby
    Nate McMillan

Sounds like a banner day to me!

"Picks" is not a throwaway word. Depending on who we are able to draft in this stacked year, the picks could be a huge boon to the future.

If we had pickers who knew how to pick, which we still don't, so those picks are worthless.

Hasheem Thabeet. I forgot about this guy. Looks like he has a team option for next season. Do the Blazers retain him? With Oden likely gone, Thabeet would figure to fit right into the role of "Injury Riddled, Lottery Pick Center" - a role rich with tradition and history here in Portland.

It wasn't really Thabeet's fault that Z-Bo broke his face.

He is good at fouling though, save a couple in garbage time from Okur and Przy

    And she Blazers as well!

On a serious note. I have tried, really tried, to be patient. I know what a blow losing Roy was. He was the go to guy in late games and the team leader. The first half of the season the team played OK. Lost some tough games but overall, far from terrible. At least the effort was mostly there. Since the ASB, they have been unwatchable. In fact I was seriously considering cancelling NBA League Pass. I don't have access to anyone's thoughts, but I honestly wondered if, once the team got an All Star, they figured there was nothing else they cared about for the rest of the year.

Saying they had problems with Nate did not cut it. I've worked with managers who were incompetent, abusive and both. Guess what? I still did a good job because I can't stand doing a shitty job!

And I sure was not going to pay my hard earned money to watch players not even fucking try. I planned on watching women's NCAA until baseball started. Maybe even men's NCAA.

Well, it looks like team management was not asleep at the switch after all. I can see giving the team a reasonable period of time to make things work, especially after the great 7-2 start. Clearly, that was not going to happen.

Maybe a reason to watch this team again. I'll be a fan from my grave, but love is not totally blind. Sometimes the loved one really does look ugly.

Is it true that the pick from the Nets is top 3 protected? If so just adding that is MONEY for you guys. You could potentially add a Sullinger, Robinson, Lamb, Drummond, etc. etc. to LMA and Batum...and you've got some cap space to work with.

Great fucking day for you guys IMO.

EDIT: Forgot you also own your own 1st rounder, and you're in position to really tank hard down the stretch. Could get two nice prospects or move up for a stud.

You can't cancel League Pass unless you are a frightening spectre like Reep. :devilwink:

The only thing we got out of today was NJ's pick and a coaching change.

I am loathe to say it, but I halfway agree with Maris. We have terrible management (no GM, only an interim) so having a good pick in a good draft doesn't mean much to me at this point.

I'm checked out for the season.

I thought it was only protected if they WON the lottery (as in the #1 pick). That's what is being reported.

No, its stays with NJN if the lotto balls give them spot #1, #2, or #3. #4-#14 it'll be the Blazers pick!!! It's great for us.

Well if you're outside the worst 3 records in the league and you move up, its automatically into the top 3. Maybe thats what they mean? Everything I've read is "top 3 protected" and I believe NJ is currently outside that realm and just got slightly better.
