So pretty much all we have of value is LA and Nic, maybe Wes, and a couple picks which only have value if we trade them for a proven vet.

Most teams at least have 5 starters other teams would be interested in.

So the 2 lotto picks only have value if we trade them for a proven vet? How so?

I think Hasheem Thabeet still has a chance in this league. We're his last chance, probably but it's a chance just the same. I'm pulling for him.

Wow if only... Seriously, if he could actually be 25% of what his ceiling was supposed to be, the trade just got that much better

People said the LaMarcus/Roy draft was a very weak draft and unlikely to make a difference. Truth is we don't really know. The pick could end up being a Kyrie Irving level of stud difference maker or it could be virtually worthless. We traded Bonzi Wells to the Grizzlies and thought we'd get a great lottery pick then they ended up winning a bunch and we got stuck with Telfair. So those picks are a huge uncertain gamble. That makes them very likely to be busts, but the most likely asset we to become a star. Very high risk very high reward.

Well we are in the exact position to sign Hasheem and Flynn as we were two days ago. Using up cap space.

Do we really want to be the idiot team that hands out a big long-term contract to a player who plays well for 40 days?

Been there done that with PatterNash. See the Darius Miles and Theo Ratliff experiment.

I don't think we give him a big contract. I think we get him for cheap

Then D. Williams leaves, signs with Portland this summer, and the Nets suck next year, end up with the 3rd pick in the draft, which becomes ours!
