I like Canales a lot. Think he'll be a good coach.

Tireless workers, that pay attention to detail and can break down the game are the best coaches. He's a guy that the guys wants to play for, too.

No more arms folded, suit re-adjusting McMillan roaming the sidelines preaching scrap.

Who cares. He's an interim coach who is expected to lose to better our draft position.

That said, I'm sure he's a good guy.

I respect Nate Mcmillan a lot. Think he's an excellent coach.

Tireless worker, that pays attention to detail and can break down the game...

Pretty sure he'll win a title before we do.

I think what he does the rest of the way will make him a head coach.

I am a Vancouver transplant living in his hometown here in Texas and people are giddy for him, as they should be. Had a chance to talk to him today and gotta say the guy sounded TIRED, as it's to be expected. Expressed nothing but gratitude to Nate for everything he's done for Kaleb. He's extremely excited about this opportunity and with his work ethic i guarantee he won't be thinking about losing games, much to the dismay of many on the board. I don't know if he's the "answer" or not but nice to see a young guy get a crack, especially over someone like Bickerstaff.

I'm supposed to talk to him more in-depth on monday and will pass along anything that sounds interesting.

I have no idea if he will be good or bad, but I'm happy to see him get a shot, I think this is a good time for the Blazers to experiment with a young coach. But Canales will have to prove a shitload to stay on as coach after next offseason when fewer than 5 guys who are here today will still be blazers.

Thank you for starting a thread telling us that you think Canales will be a good coach.

He's nothing more than a Yes Man at this point, but that's my opinion.

Maybe I should start a thread about it.

Sure, you could do that. Yesterday you started a thread telling us that you walked out of the Rose Garden. Then a tearful Nate memoir that had everyone all choked up.

I think Canales will be a good coach!! Yippee!!

That's very insightful. Thanks for sharing it. I learned a lot from it.

I started a thread saying what the mood was at the RG during a very big day for the Blazers.

You started a really neat thread saying you think Canales will be a good coach, as if he has any shot of being the head coach next year. The entire reason he is coaching is so the team will lose games. If Paul wanted to try and milk out some wins, Bickerstaff would be coaching the team. Instead, he promotes the AV guy, and some of you are acting like Phil Jackson the Second just got his big chance.

    It's ridiculous.

I hope thats hyperbole. Me thinking that Canales is a competent coach equals he's the next Phil Jackson?

Slow down, take a deep breath. Everything will be okay.

Canales was made the head coach for one reason and one reason alone; he will give the young guys run and somewhat equal playing time.

Bickerstaff or anyone else would be focused on their next possible job and doing whatever it takes to win.

No doubt Bickerstaff would = more wins for the remainder of the season. I agree with the move.

None of us have a god damn clue if Canales is a good coach or not. Let it go for now.

However, the greatest moment of the season came tonight in Chicago when each and every player embraced Canales after the win. Man, I needed to see that. Badly. Without a doubt tonight is my favorite night of the season. Despite what happens the rest of the season, tonight, I'm a little giddy.
