USA Today - St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk will have major reconstructive knee surgery and will almost certainly miss the entire 2006 season, Rams coach Scott Linehan said Friday. The surgery could spell the end of Faulk's career after 12 years in the NFL. But Linehan said at a news conference the 33-year-old Faulk isn't ready to call it quits. Faulk didn't attend the news conference.
Wow, that's a terrible loss for the Rams. Hopefully, this doesn't mean the end for Faulk though. I would love to see him make a comeback after he recovers because I think he still has a few more years of football left in him.
Faulk is probably done. I don't remember him doing anything in recent years, so I think he'd be better off just ending things now. Don't try to stretch it out like Emmitt.
No big deal for the Rams. Steven Jackson's been there starter anyway and he's ready to take the load. It's time to move on. Faulk's career is basically over, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see him make a comeback next season though.
