    Talkin Ball after the game?

In the last part of the show, with something like three minuets left, That bald headed panty waste said "I have talked to sources in Seattle, and Paul has been talking to people about selling the team"

Now, I am aware of the self promoting puke and his desire to creat controversy, but I cant help but think that once again, what we are being told, and what is the truth may infact be two very different things.

Because Dwight Jaynes, who has no sources in Portland, has even better sources within Paul Allen's Seattle operation. Sure.

I couldn't agree more. I'm always surprised by how little criticism Allen receives for the handling of this team. He's either disconnected enough to have some bozo at Vulcan make decisions for him or he's too hands on and should listen to his baskeball execs. I'm not sure which one it is but I've never been all that impressed with any alleged advantage his money has supposedly brought to the Trailblazers. I mean if the next owner doesn't have as much money and can't "buy" picks at the end of the first round does anyone really care?

If you look at the history of the Blazers under Allen's ownership they've gone from a well respected organization that players were willing to play for to being an out of the way destination that includes jail blazers, the mishandling of Bill Schonely and former players, stadium drama and mismanagement, poor draft picks, not paying players he should but paying the Darius Miles characters of the world, and piss poor GM hiring or firing. I could go on but I know I've said enough about the Blazers. Having said all that, take a look at the business success (or lack thereof), that he's experienced outside of Microsoft. If I owned a chain of Taco Bells I would not want his organization in charge for crying out loud.

Brian Berger made this point on his radio show last week. Basically, he said that if you look at it, it looks like PA has been prepping the team for a sale this year: Shedding salaries and costs and increasing flexibility so that whoever buys the team would be locked into few long-term contracts and could install his own GM, his own coach (or GM/coach) and even his own players. And the team is finally profitable.

it actually makes a lot of sense.

And one could surmise that PA does not have another rebuilding effort in him. I know how he feels!

I don't know if he will sell, but the team has hardly ever been better positioned for one.

I sure hope he sells, and anyone else that wants professional sports in Portland to grow should want him to sell also.

Dwight Janes has talked about PA selling the blazers for 3 years now. I dont' trust a word that comes out of his mouth. Besides i'm almost 99% sure he sells it to Larry Millers group if he sells it. I can't find the article but when Larry Miller took over as president it was one of the stipulations was he would sell the team to Miller if he sold it.

It has been clear since the day Miller was hired that his purpose here was to prepare the team for sale. PA already knew Roy's knees were going and anyone with a brain knew Oden was toast.

Just look at the transactions from that day forward and you'll see no attempt to better the team's performance, nor any investment in troublesome contracts. Just the opposite, really. Every move he did was designed to cut strings.

It's not like I haven't been telling you guys this for 4-5 years now.

Yes, quite plausible. But that doesn't necessarily make it true.

There's no other sane reason to go 2 years without a GM and watch your team implode.

Well, ok, as long as you are sure it is one extreme or the other but not somewhere in the middle, I'll take your word for it. You seem to have a good handle on the situation.

Having said all that, take a look at the athletic success (or lack thereof), that Michael Jordan has experienced outside of basketball.
