I think these are the guys Portland will really look at. Williams and Lopez are the only grade A proepects that are under 32. I just don't know if Portland will want to spend their space on 38 year old Nash, even though it would be cool to get him, for the short stint he were here. The others would be good backups, and perhaps a guy like Augustin or Brooks could take over for Felton if we don't resign him.

    Aaron Brooks, R
    Jermey Lin, U
    D.J. Augustin, R
    George Hill, R

    Carl Landry, U

Getting Brooks, Landry, and Hibbert would be a good off season.

Can anyone find a list of how much cap room each team will have? I thought i heard there will be a lot of teams with a lot of space this offseason.

Off the bench he is scoring 11.5ppg and grabbing 4.4rpg

Not that bad. He would be the perfect back up for LMA.

If nothing else, I think we can at least really improve our bench unit.

So you think they'll do a double-take on Steve Novak?

He's hitting his 3's quite well but does nothing else to speak of.

I see lots of super but old and highly paid guys.

I see promising young guys who will be re-signed.

I see restricted players who will be kept.

I see a couple stars who could opt out but won't.

I see nobody who wants to come to a gutted team except dozens of pretty good bench players who've been failing as starters and have worn out their welcome.

That leaves a trade as our only hope to get a top player, and that would cost us our picks, Batum and Wes, and probably future considerations. And then the star would demand a re-trade because LA is all he'd have for help.

Free agents are: d will 1st, then Nash. Im curious about Jason terry. If Dallas is going all in for Howard and d will, then they won't have much room for him.

I'm really interested in the centers and Pfs too. Jason maxell will surely opt out because he's playing well. Brandon bass seems like a good choice, but I think Boston will hold onto him. Hawes and kamen seem like good choices, but they're going to be too expensive. I actually like jerm oneal too. If he can be had for 5-6 mil it ain't that bad!

I know he's restricted and they can match but the Knicks are capped out -- how could we make it extremely difficult for them to re-sign Jeremy Lin?

If we offered 10 mil a year for Lin, I doubt NY would match (unless they can offload Carmelo or Stoudamire for cap space) Why would a GM want to bring a non-winning team up to their eyeballs in luxery tax payments?

Maybe we should sit on our cap space till next year though....

This list is the reason cap space is a shitty plan

I don't think any team uses cap space as it's only "plan", everyone knows the value of drafting well, and that drafting well is of primary importance. But why would a team not want to shed contracts of underperforming players for an opportunity to get someone better? It's an opportunity, not a "shitty plan".
